Before I start, I just want to say thank you for all your love. You guys gave each of the five chapters I posted yesterday nearly 500 stars. I wanted to cry seeing the overwhelming love from you. You all are the best!

Here's the next chapter. Enjoy.

This chapter is written in song format -- you can imagine it as background music if you want. It just suits the situation so well, and I wanted to use it in this chapter. Here is the song! ❤️

Aaj jaane ki zid na karo
Aaj jaane ki zid na karo
Yunhi pehlu mein baithe raho
Yunhi pehlu mein baithe raho
Aaj jaane ki zid na karo
Aaj jaane ki zid na karo

today, don't insist on leaving.
today, don't insist on leaving.
keep on sitting close to me like you are.
keep on sitting close to me like you are.
today, don't insist on leaving.
today, don't insist on leaving.

They were driving on the road. The wind was blowing cool air into their faces. It was slightly cold, and Bondita shivered, folding her arms together.

What was more cold than the air though, was the fact that her Pati Babu was not even looking at her. They were driving in a painful silence, almost like they were trying hard to forget that they were going to be away from each other for so long.

Anirudh focused on the road ahead, trying hard not to cry.

How would he sleep without her at night? How would he live without their fun banters, her innocent arguments, her sweet voice? How would he live without her yelling 'Pati Babu' every few minutes?

Bondita turned her face and looked to the side of the road. There were many trees on the path... it was a time period, where not everything was industrial. Nature was able to hold its own beauty and wasn't so polluted.

Haaye mar jaayenge
Hum to lutt jaayenge
Aisi baatein kiya na karo
Aaj jane ki zid na karo
Aaj jane ki zid na karo

oh I will die
I will be lost,
don't say such things.
today, don't insist on leaving.
today, don't insist on leaving.

This dreadful silence was becoming too much.

"P - Pati Babu," she finally said, turning to look at him, hoping that now he would speak to her. She had to make sure that he wouldn't hurt himself. That he wouldn't feel empty and lost when she left.

"Hmm..." he just said, still not looking at her.

"You... you will be okay, please," she told him, almost in a begging tone. "Please be okay."

Tears finally prickled her eyes, and at the same time, tears entered his as well.

"Hmm..." he just mumbled.

He didn't want her to feel that he would be sad. He wanted her to be happy there, not worry about him.

"For your Bondita to be happy, you have to be happy," she told him, almost as if she read his mind. "How can I be happy if you're not happy?"

Tears slipped down her cheeks and she wiped them away.

Happy? He felt like he could die without her. He would be completely lost without her.
