When Batuk asked Anirudh whether he got jealous, he didn't know how to respond for a few seconds.
"Batuk, everyone gets jealous. It's a struggle that each one of us has to go through," Anirudh explained, "So yes, of course I have gotten jealous. What matters isn't the jealousy, but how you choose to let it affect you."
Batuk just looked at his Dada with a grin.
"You're the best Dada," he said, and Anirudh placed his hand around Batuk's shoulder.
"You're growing tall now Batuk. Your shoulder is almost up to mine now," Anirudh pointed out.
"Dada, I want to be just like you!" Batuk said.
Anirudh laughed and gently slapped his shoulder.
"Then you have to study hard Batuk," he told him, his voice turning serious now. "If you want to be like me, then your studies are most important."
Batuk sighed and said, "Yes Dada."
Anirudh's mind went back to the study, where Bondita and Vikram were alone, and he suddenly felt anxious again.
"I have to go now," he told Batuk, and walked fast towards the study.
In the study, Vikram was admiring the typewriter on Anirudh's desk. Bondita was sitting on her Pati Babu's chair, as if it was her own, and leaned back, pretending to be her Pati Babu.
"This is my study!" she announced to Vikram, grinning.
"Isn't it your Pati Babu's?" Vikram asked, as he continued to look at the typewriter with amazement.
"Yes," Bondita said, and blushed, "But I am also my Pati Babu's!"
"Does your Pati Babu own you?" Vikram asked, frowning.
"Don't use such cheap words Vikram for our relationship," Bondita said sternly, "I belong to my Pati Babu in every way, but it's not so simple as him owning me. He's my inspiration, he's my happiness, he's the light in my darkest of days. In fact, this inspiration of mine has shown me the light within myself. He's illuminated me fully! And he's shown me that my happiness can be found inside of me. Our relationship is so deep!"
Vikram blinked a few times.
"I don't get it," he said simply.
"Of course you won't! You don't have a Pati Babu like mine!" Bondita said proudly.
"Nor do I want a Pati Babu," Vikram responded, and then went back to admiring the typewriter.
Bondita stood up and went beside Vikram, placing her hand on the typewriter as if it was hers.
"This is my Pati Babu's typewriter," she said proudly. "So it's mine too!"
"I still don't understand how it's yours," Vikram responded.
"Because his essence is in it," Bondita said simply. "Anything with his essence in it, is mine!"
"Now I'm starting to understand Batuk," Vikram said, shaking his head.
"What?" Bondita asked, confused.
"Nothing," Vikram said with a laugh, "Just that you and your Pati Babu are totally engrossed in each other."
Bondita grinned. She knew that she was engrossed in him, but to hear that her Pati Babu was engrossed in her too, was making her happier than anything else.
"By the way Bondita, you said that you were not feeling well, but you said you aren't sick. If you're not sick, why aren't you feeling well?" Vikram asked.
