Chapter 63

I stood silently as I am unable to move a muscle because I still feel the shock from Ulysses anger. I was just looking at him with my eyes wide open and my jaw dropped which I tried to close before he can even spoke.

"I-I'm so sorry" he said and looked away frowning, he closed his eyes while biting his lower lip as if he was guilty and feeling unpleasant.

"O-Okay lang. May problema ba?" I asked still looking in every inch of his face. Tila hinahanap ang mga sagot sa tanong ko kung anong problema niya at bigla nalang siyang nagalit.

For plenty of times nakita ko na kung paano magalit ang isang Ulysses Del Real, but for the record this was the first time he ever shouted directly at me as if I was at fault for something unforgivable.

Huminga ako ng malalim habang nakatayo parin siya sa harapan ko ng tahimik. Hindi pa rin niya magawang tumingin sakin, and what his expression is telling me is that there is something wrong going on pero ayaw niyang sabihin.

He calmed himself, took a deep breathe and sighed before facing me again. "I'm really sorry. I'm just too tired"

Hindi na ako nakapagsalita pa nang dahan dahan siyang tumalikod at naglakad palayo. He looked so tired, stressed and depressed for whatever reason.

Pinagmasdan ko lang siyang maglakad palayo sakin hanggang sa tuluyan na siyang naglaho sa aking paningin. Ngayon nakatitig nalang ako sa hallway na kanyang pinanggalingan.

Now I was left alone in this side of the mansion habang nakatayo at hindi alam kung ano ang susunod na gagawin. But before I thought of going back, there's an invisible force that led me to look back on the room behind me as if someone is telling me to look.

Naiwan na bahagyang nakasara ang pinto ngunit may maliit na siwang na sapat lang upang makita ang loob ng kwarto. And I know Ulysses told me not to go inside but my curiosity is killing me! And so I did peep a bit.

I wandered my eyes in the room from the small gap and I saw the inside of the darkest place in the entire mansion. It was so dark that you can'te even see a thing, but when a glimpse of sunlight escape the window, there I saw every part of the room dilapidated! Not even a thing inside is unbroken.

Every inch of the room is messy, even the floor has stains of something I don't even know what. What in the world happened here!?

It was hard not to ask anything about what I saw pagbaba ko sa main hall, but there must be reason why Ulysses didn't want me to go there. Pinulot ko lang yung pendant at umalis na ako dun. To be honest may naramdaman akong hindi maganda nang mapatingin ako sa lugar na yun, na tila may nagsasabi sakin na may bagay na hindi ako dapat malaman pa.

Sinalubong ako ni Mr. Del Real pagbaba ko sa stairway, halatang lutang at hindi alam ano ang sasabihin.

He just looked at me with a warm sympathetic smile as if he already knew what I've been through without even asking me why.

"Ulysses asked me to take care of you, ipapahatid na kita sa driver pauwi. He rushed to the company saying that he has still work to do kaya hindi ka niya maihahatid. Is there something that happened?"

Naglalaro sa isipan ko ang iba't ibang bagay na hindi ko magawang mabigkas. Nakatitig lang ako sa mga mata ni Mr. Del Real sa harapan ko. Tinapik niya ang balikat ko na tila sinasabing wala akong dapat ikabahala.

Until I went home tila lutang ako sa lahat ng bagay, may kung ano sa akin ang bumabagabag pero hindi ko malaman o masabi kung ano yon. And it frustrates me even more!
