After arriving at the airport my kuya already arranged everything for me. There were two people who waited for me at the arriving area holding a big welcome sign.

One was Adrien my half Filipino, half French childhood friend who's been staying in the Philippines since last year and the other one was Lily, my bestfriend since I was three.

"Hi! I miss you both!" I enthusiastically shouted while running towards them and gave them a tight hug.

"We miss you too!" said Lily giggling as we parted.

Andrien rolled the welcome sign board as he smiled at me. "Welcome home Ivanessa" he said and winked.

"Gosh hindi ka pa rin nagbabago" pabiro kong sabi sakanya sabay tapik sakanya sa braso. We both laughed.

"Yeah. Of course I've been waiting to see you for ages" and he stretched out his arms as if putting his words into overreacting. Tumawa nalang ako.

"Sira. We just saw each other two months ago" sabi ko at natawa lang siya.

Two months ago he and his parents went to England for a business meeting. And of course what do I expect from this guy malamang everytime he had the chance pupunta siya sa bahay namin.

"You know how much I missed you" he wrapped his arms around my shoulders giggling.

"Just to inform you I'm still waiting for your yes till now" he joked. Natawa nalang kami.

Adrien said he's been in love with me since childhood pero dahil sobrang close namin ay madalas lang namin itong ginagawang biro. He's actually my best friend aside from Lily kahit na sobrang magkalayo namin parati.

"What made you suddenly come home?" he asked glancing at my face. Nakakabigla naman kasi talaga yung decision ko na umuwi. Wala pa ngang isang buwan simula nung sinabi ko kay papa ang balak ko. Ngayon nandito na ko.

"Long story. I'll just tell you later" sabi ko at naglakad na kami papunta dun sa car na kanina pa naghihintay samin.

Last year Adrien told me that the reason why he decided to go here in the Philippines is because her mom founded a new business here. So para may kasama ito he decided to just lived here with her. Atsaka namimiss na rin daw niya ang pagtira dito.

"How about your dad?" I asked as we travel to our house, nasa backseat kami pareho ni Lily, while Adrien sits at the shotgun seat. Particularly my grandparents house kung saan na ako titira starting today.

"You know him. He likes to be immersed in his business. Baka nga hindi naman niya napapansin na malayo kami sakanya" sabi niya na tila nayayamot rin sa tatay niya. Well pareho lang naman kami. Ganito siguro talaga ang buhay. Hindi lahat ng bagay na gusto mo nakukuha mo. Kahit na ipinanganak kapa mula sa marangyang pamilya.

"Ikaw naman Lily kumusta kana?" I asked leaning on her shoulder. "How I miss being next to you"

Natawa lang siya sa gesture ko.
