"I never liked that girl."
George was unbuttoning his shirt while I sat in bed with my phone.
"She's trying to control the career he chooses." He added.
I glanced at him as he let his shirt slide off his shoulders and caught the material with his hand.
"Fred wants to play Quidditch."
"So do you." I mumbled, causing him to look at me.
"So do I?"
"You want him to play Quidditch." I said. "I'm not saying that Fred doesn't want to play, but right now, it seems the most important to you."
George frowned as he walked over to the bed while undoing his belt.
"Fred doesn't want to go into Astronomy. He's been playing Quidditch for years and he's been dreaming about this. You know how much he's talked about getting recruited and now that it finally happened, he'd rather follow his girlfriend in another direction?"
I sighed and sat up on my knees.
"Maybe we should sit down with both Fred and Jess." I suggested.
"You think that'll do anything?" He asked. "Other than making Fred hate us."
"Then I have no idea what you want to do."
George reached for my shirt, pulling me to the end of the bed where he stood, and I almost fell but grabbing onto his shoulders, I regained balance.
"I'm not allowing him to quit on the team." He told me. "He'll regret it if he do that."
George loved Fred, but sometimes it felt like he was living his own dream through him. I know George's second choice in life would be to play Quidditch, but he favoured the idea of a joke shop.
"We'll talk to him in the morning." I said. "If his girlfriend is more important than his dream, then we have to support him, okay? No matter if we like Jess or not."
George rolled his eyes and looked away.
I ran my hand to the side of his jaw to make him look at me again, letting out a chuckle at his expression.
"I don't like this whole thing..." he said and took a few steps away.
"What whole thing? Fred and Jess?"
"Them growing up." He said and made a face. "It's been almost nineteen years since Fred was born. He's close to being an adult. He's got a girlfriend and now Roxi who's only fourteen has a boyfriend... what's next? Are Liam and Amelia coming home from school next week to tell us they had their first kiss with someone?"
"They're five years old..."
"And Roxanne is fourteen!" George exclaimed. "She's too young to be having a boyfriend. I don't even know who this Alex boy is!"
I laughed softly and tilted my head while I placed my hands on my hips.
"He's in the same year as her — same age as well. Alex Hanson. He's in Ravenclaw." I said. "Smart kid. He always does well in my class."
George looked at me.
"That isn't helping."
"How is it not helping?" I laughed. "I just told you that Alex is a good kid. He and Roxi have been friends for a while so I think it's cute that they like each other."
He just kept staring at me, unimpressed with what I was saying. I held out my hands and gestures for him to come over to me, which he did.
"You gotta let them grow up." I whispered, kissing his lips.
