Three perspectives of leaving and one perspective of a father

Wilbur was first to leave. He didn't leave willingly, though. Phil had went to wake him up for his 18th birthday and he wasn't there. There was a note that explained where he went. Where he was taken.
Who he was taken by.
Wilbur was stuck on a piece of bedrock on his 18th birthday. The Sky Gods didn't tell him anything, only that he'd get blocks soon enough. He hated waiting.
He was always a relatively patient person, but he found it hard to not become impatient when trying not to fall off a single block and be sucked into the void.
Eventually, he did get his blocks. He expanded a bit and sat down, relieved he didn't have to balance anymore. As he was given more blocks, his need to adventure grew more.
He created a small parkour area where he'd jump around and try not to fall; his own little challenge. He did, a couple times. Each time, he felt the pang of fear when he jumped and never felt the safety of the ground beneath his feet.
Each time, he fell through the endless sky and was trapped in a lifeless darkness, and the only thing he could see was a large, ethereal woman with her face shrouded in deep purple.
Each time, he felt her whisper in his mind, and when he blinked, he was on his torturous island once more.
It wasn't always dull and boring for him, however. He made a new friend. But, through his stupidity, Milo didn't quite make it. He grieved for a while.
New Milo was given to him a short while after. Wilbur was very careful with him. There were other animals he was gifted, but most died from falling off or going too far down.
Wilbur was also placed into three tests at the Sky Gods' command. He met someone there. He was boisterous and self-centered, but was overall a good friend. Schlatt was his name.
They endured three awful natural disasters. Well, unnatural. TNT doesn't normally fall from the sky, and lava doesn't really flood without an active volcano nearby.
Anyway, Schlatt showed his true side during the lava test. After he threw Wilbur off the edge, the Sky Gods deemed Schlatt a champion for winning one of the three tests.
After it all, Wilbur was back on his floating purgatory. Though, since there was no other tests left, he was granted the option to leave. If he left, he was still allowed to come back to do stuff like take care of New Milo.
He did just that and didn't stay any longer than he needed to.

Techno was next to leave. Phil encouraged his strength and ability to fight, so he figured he should go and use it to get money and experience.
When he left, he was a bit saddened that Wilbur wasn't there to bid him goodbye. But, he pushed the thought aside and hugged his father and youngest brother before going out into the open.
His first thought was to go to the Bedwars realm, but he considered touching up his fighting strategies before going. So, he did. He ventured into villages for food and housing, and challenged warriors or knights in training to duel.
Of course, he always came out as the winner, but he complimented his opponent and gave them advice before leaving. How nice of him.
When he made a name for himself in the villages he left, he went to Bedwars. He was nervous for whatever reason before his first round, but after entering and seeing all the other first timers just as anxious, he had calmed down a bit.
When he came out victorious for the third time in a row, his nervousness had completely dissipated.
His name quickly spread throughout the realm, and when he was seen, people would wave and cheer and compliment him and clap. Groups of visitors would scream in excitement when watching Technoblade take down his opponents, and it made him content with his occupation.
His Great Potato War against SquidKid was legendary, and it boosted his popularity through the roof. He could imagine Phil and Tommy's ecstatic faces. Maybe even Wilbur would have been exasperated.
Sure, there were lots of times in which his voices would get the best of him, and his hands would be covered in the blood of innocents, but hey! People would know not to mess with him.
He met Dream during his Minecraft Monday days, and they were immediate best friends. They clicked together perfectly, and they were both known well.
He came back home when he became tired of swinging his sword around with swift grace and slamming his axe with brute force. Phil was surprised, he didn't leave a letter, but he welcomed him with open arms.
They would stick together until the end from then on.

Tommy was last to leave since he was the youngest. Phil had kept him until he was 15, and tried to keep him for longer, but Tommy insisted he would be safe, and told Phil he would always be with a trusted adult.
When Phil reluctantly agreed, Tommy was bursting with joy. He was so happy, and he told Phil all about it. The DreamSMP. Techno had encouraged the idea, and even told Phil that he knew the person who ran the server; Dream, and that he trusted him with his whole soul.
Phil was a bit relieved when informed that Techno trusted Dream, but he was still a bit cautious about letting his 15 year old son go out into a world he himself didn't know of.
"It'll be fine," Techno had reassured him. Phil finally relaxed, and helped Tommy pack. When he left, he knew that was it.
Tommy didn't expect to meet Wilbur again on the SMP. But, he wasn't disappointed by any means. Upon first sight of seeing his older brother the first time since he randomly disappeared, Tommy was exhilarated.
He had sprinted towards Wilbur and captured him in a bear hug. The impact of the hug made Wilbur fall backwards since Tommy had basically barrelled into him.
When they were on the ground, Wilbur had no idea who just tackled him. "Who the hell are you," he had asked, confused. When Tommy looked up from his chest, he grinned and Wilbur gasped.
They sat up as he wrapped his long arms around Tommy, gripping onto his shirt like a vice. They let their tears fall, and sobbed into each others shoulders, contented.
Dream and Tubbo, who was walking with Tommy, was extremely confused. Why did his friend just attack a random tall guy who just arrived on the server? Beside him, Dream laughed, knowing.
Tubbo glanced up at him, confused. Dream smiled under his mask and explained. When he finished, Tubbo stared at the brothers in awe. Well, that was cuter with context.
Tommy and Wilbur eventually pulled away from each other and stood, hand in hand. Dream continued with the tour of the realm with Tubbo walking beside the crimeboys.

Phil knew his sons would leave at one point, but when they did, it still hurt a bit. It saddened him to know that his sons were growing and feeling the need to go out on their own.
It was a natural thing, he knew that. But, he couldn't help but feel guilty when he held the knowledge that if his sons were to get hurt, he'd be far away.
If he could change fate and twist it into his own selfish ways, twist it to where his children would always be safe in his arms, he would. He would do anything for his children.
So, why was he such a bad father?
