And if Heaven and Hell decide
that they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on
their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
when your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

"I'm worried about her, Blaine," Sam sighed. "She's on this... mission to rewrite her past and become a new and untraumatized Vi."

Blaine asked, "But isn't that a good thing? Don't you want your girlfriend to not have trauma?"

"Of course I don't want Violet to have trauma–"

Blaine continued, "Then isn't this just her next step? Isn't this just part of her healing process?"

Sam buried his head into his hands, "Maybe? I don't know. It just feels like she's trying to forget everything instead of accepting what happened. She was doing really well, a-and I guess she might still be, but, I don't know... it's been different. She's been different."

"That's what happens when you grow up, Sam," Blaine patted his shoulder. "Violet isn't gonna be the exact same girl as she was in high school. She's just doing everything she can to move on, and that's okay."

"Yeah, but–"

Sam didn't get to finish his sentence because an unfamiliar number started calling Blaine, "Hello?"

"May I speak to Mr. Blaine Anderson please?"

"Yeah, this is Blaine."

"Mr. Anderson, do you know a Kurt Hummel?"

Blaine's heart dropped to his stomach when that nurse told him what happened, and he immediately told Sam what happened once the phone hung up. Tears blurred his vision.

"Kurt's in the hospital. Some guys... t-they jumped him or something, and he's in the hospital."

Alarms started blaring in Sam's head, "Wait, but he was with Vi. They were just having dinner together with Rachel. Did they mention anything about Vi?"

"No, no, no. They didn't, but I-I need to go," Blaine struggled to put on his jacket. His hands were shaking, and he could barely call a cab.

Sam bit his lip, "Let me call the cab, and I'll come with you. You shouldn't be alone."

Blaine didn't say it, but Sam knew he was grateful. But after the news about Russ... and now hearing that Kurt was attacked, Blaine was a wreck.

So Sam, who could keep his composure better than Blaine, took it upon himself to do everything. He called the cab. He called their friends, and he tried to make sure he could be Blaine's rock.
