It's been a couple of weeks since Violet's returned back from her New York trip. After what she had said to Sam in the car, she had to fess up everything to Sam. He was shocked, to say the least, but he was supportive. At least, he was supportive outwardly. He was still hesitant about her actually accepting her family situation and claiming that it won't affect her anymore. These wounds were still fresh and going back on Broadway could just bring up a lot more issues than she's ready for. But, he saw that she seemed content. She seemed like she was back to her old self, maybe even better. He didn't want to ruin that.
After Violet came back, she wanted to try and enact her ideas into Glee Club. She didn't want to just be complacent and complain. She wanted to give the club the best shot that they could when it came to Nationals, and that means that they needed to work on their dancing. When she proposed this idea to Mr. Schue, she expected him to push back, but he actually agreed. So he came up with the idea of "Booty Camp" to work on the basics with everyone since everyone was on varying skill levels. So this coming week, Mr. Schue decided to implement "Booty Camp" into the New Directions' practice schedule.
Mr. Schue essentially gave Violet the reigns to this project, so she wanted it to work. She wanted it to be perfect. This means that Violet spent extra time considering Finn's dance level, and how it was so clumsy that he could hurt himself or knockdown people around him. She meticulously went through basic choreography to try and prevent any mishaps from happening, and she managed to get it done before "Booty Camp." The entire club was in the auditorium just in time for rehearsal. Mr. Schue introduced it, "Alright guys, Nationals are just a few weeks away, and it's time to bear down. Now, your singing at Regionals was amazing, but your dancing... It's booty camp time."
Violet then showed them a simple move that they should get down. It was a basic move that they used in their Regional's performance of "Loser Like Me" and it was so basic that it didn't even really include the arms. Once Mr. Schue thought it was good enough, he counted off, "5, 6, 7, 8" and then Brad, he pianist, started to play the instrumentals to that song. It was going so well until Finn decided to use his arms. He swung them back and hit Rachel so hard that she fell onto the ground.
Frustrated, Violet threw her arms up and yelled, "Awh c'mon!"
Finn went to the ground to check on Rachel and Mr. Schue followed, "Oh! I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"
Rachel held her nose and noticed blood, "I'm bleeding." Finn decided on driving Rachel to the doctor's while Mr. Schue saw them off.
In the meanwhile, Violet was in charge, so she asked Mike for some help running booty camp. She ran through the basics, and she even got into some routines for them to pick up. The rest of booty camp went smoothly without Finn there. It was a success. Violet just wondered if they could ever get to place where all of the New Directions weren't just using basic choreography for their routines. In Violet's mind, that was the only way they could possibly beat Vocal Adrenaline.
