chapter 33: Michael pt. 1

"Okay, favorite Michael Jackson memory, go."

A small group of Glee kids all met up at the Lima Bean discussing Michael week which Violet was particularly excited for. Besides Stevie Nicks, Michael Jackson was a huge inspiration to her.

She was also excited because this week, her and Mr. Schue were scoping out potential Regionals ideas for their plan A. Of course, Violet being Violet, she had a plan B mapped out just in case things took a turn for the worse.

Artie spoke first, "When I was one, my mom showed me a VHS tape his Motown special, and when he did the moonwalk across the stage for the first time in history, I uttered my first words: hot damn."

"I owe the King of Pop a deep debt of gratitude. He was the first one to pull off the sequined military jacket long before one Kurt Hummel made it iconic." Violet chuckled at Kurt's remark before speaking up.

"He and also Ms. Janet Jackson inspired me to wander outside of just ballet, so you have them to owe for my amazing dancing and for our choreography not sucking," Violet playfully smiled before taking a sip of her chai latte.

Rachel shrugged, "I have to be honest, I never really got him." Violet and Santana both looked at each other as if telepathically conversing if they heard her right.

Artie rolled his eyes, "And we are no longer on speaking terms."

"No, I think he's an amazing performer, but I've never really just got what he was about."

Kurt tried to reason with her, "Rachel, he was best friends with Liza Minnelli and Liz Taylor."

She still continued to try and explain, "No, all I'm saying is that I-I just... I haven't connected with him the way that I have with the likes of Barbra or either one of the Stephens."

Artie confusedly looked at her making her clarify, "Sondheim. Schwartz."

Santana scoffed, "I'd throw this mocha in your face, but it's not nearly scalding enough."

Violet actually started to uncap her iced latte to throw in Rachel's face, but Blaine gave her a look making her roll her eyes and put the top back onto her drink.

"Okay, but just, since you guys are so jazzed about him, I think it's a good idea."

Sebastian walked up to the group, "Well, that might not be the best idea. Hey, Blaine. Violet. Hello, everyone else." Violet just rolled her eyes at the head Warbler.

"Does he live here or something?" Kurt griped to Blaine and Violet before turning back to him, "Seriously, you are always here."

"Why don't you think that's a good idea?" Artie questioned.

"Because we're doing MJ for Regionals. You see, Warblers drew first position, so as soon as I heard what your plan was, I changed our set list accordingly."
