Go easy on me, baby
I was still a child
Didn't get the chance to
Feel the world around me
I had no time to choose
What I chose to do
So go easy on me

Ever since Funny Girl officially opened on Broadway, Rachel's been needing her shifts covered especially since she hasn't quit the diner yet. This was because the owner wanted to have the Broadway star on the roster whenever she did have time to bring in more patrons even though she was never there anyway.

So Violet was the consolation prize. Well, at least, Violet would be taking over Rachel's shifts whenever she could. The owner thought she would at least bring in more patrons, but he didn't account for:

1.) She was very private with her life on social media, only posting routines she was working on or videos of her playing the guitar, and,

2.) Violet could stay relatively anonymous because a lot of the old white Broadway-goers couldn't differentiate her from any other Asian person.

And honestly, she didn't mind. She had younger Broadway fans recognize her here and there, but her typical patrons– who were, in fact, non-Broadway fans most of the time, but just tourists– treated her like any other waitress at the Spotlight diner.

Clad in her red uniform, Violet made her way to Santana to help her refill the sugar containers since it was a slow day at the diner.

"How are ya holdin' up?" Violet asked the girl who was monotonously pouring.

Santana put on a fake smile, "I'm dying inside."

Violet chuckled as she took an empty sugar container, "Missing paradise?"

"More like missing Britt. Now, I'm stuck here without her, while all of you guys are doing cool stuff."

She raised an eyebrow at her friend, "How am I doing cool stuff? I'm right here with you."

"Well, Berry's doing great on Broadway. Sam's actually modeling for brands. Hell, Mercedes is even recording her album. What am I doing with my life?"

"Filling up sugar containers?" Violet replied. Santana gave her a deadpanned look, and Violet chuckled, "I'm joking. Look, Santana, if you really want to be doing something more, you just have to go for it. I mean, when you auditioned for an understudy role, you got it, so all you need to do is find something to go after."

"But what do I go after?" Santana questioned. "I might be hot and talented, but I don't know what to do."

Violet hummed as she thought about it, "Well, you could join one of my dance classes, or you could rejoin Kurt's band? Well, we're kind of in an indefinite hiatus since Elliot's in Maine..."
