"And now, let's meet our judges for the 2012 Midwest Regionals! Deputy Zoning Commissioner Melba Jackson-Wright! President of the Ohio Plumbers Union Local 109, Mr. Harl Beindorf! And Central Ohio's number one late-night horror movie host... Svengoobles!"
The New Directions all sat in their section, clad in their black and gold costumes. It's been a long week, but all of their hard work this past couple of weeks has been leading up to this. Violet would usually be antsy, but she was so tired that all she did was rest her head on Sam's shoulder.
Sam looked down at her, "Okay, once we're done for the day, you can rest at home and I'll go pick up the groceries."
She craned her neck to look at him, "Thank you, Buttercup."
"And now, from Westerville, Ohio, the Dalton Academy Warblers!" the announcer introduced.
The curtains opened and revealed the all-boys school in their usual blazer, and they started to sing Lenny Kravitz's "Stand."
She smiled at the group and started clapping with them which prompted some of the New Directions to do so as well. After all that they've been through, it felt like the relationship between the Warblers and the New Directions were mended again.
Finn then coaxed everyone to stand for the Warblers' performance, and everyone got up and danced to their singing. Violet could've sworn that Sebastian looked into her eyes and smiled, but he was so far away that she just shook her head at the thought.
"Thank you. Just a reminder to please make a donation to one of our charity baskets. We're set up all around the auditorium. Just look for the Dalton blazer. Please... give what you can." Sebastian mentioned between songs.
The Warbler's then started on their second and final song in their set, "Glad You Came" by The Wanted. Once they were finished with their set, it was time for the Golden Goblets to perform their set which was a lot better than anyone ever expected even for a choir in a show choir competition.
There was a brief intermission between groups and the New Directions went to the choir room to convene before it was time for them to perform. Violet sat next to Kurt and leaned her head on his shoulder as half the group was touching up on their makeup.
"Those Golden Goblet madrigal singers were way better than I thought they'd be," Puck mentioned while putting on some more eyeliner.
