It was Tuesday, one of the slowest days in Violet's opinion, and she was just trying to get through it without falling asleep. It was finally lunchtime which was exciting because Violet definitely needed some fuel.
Violet and Kurt found each other and started walking to lunch together. "So this week's Glee assignment is duets, right?"
Kurt was clearly excited. "Yes, it is! I'm so excited. I'm singing with that new Sam kid." He smiling practically ear to ear. A moment of realization struck Kurt, "Aren't you friends with Sam?"
"Yup! We actually became friends when Finn tried to get him to audition that first week. We've actually been hanging out during our free periods together."
"Great! Do you know if he plays for my team or not? His dyed hair is really setting off up gaydar..." Kurt was hoping that the answer is yes. It would be nice if someone in the school was like him. Someone that he could ask out, someone he could hold hands with, someone he could go to prom with...
Violet replied, "Um... I'm not actually sure. He seems pretty straight to me, but he could honestly be straight-passing. I mean I think I look pretty straight, but no one would realize that I'm actually bi."
"Wait you're bi? And you're out? How have we never talked about this?"
"I didn't tell you about my ex-girlfriend in New York? We were apart of the same dance company." They had just entered the lunchroom when Kurt said that. Kurt needed to buy his lunch, and Violet just followed him in line, even though she already had her lunch, so they could keep talking.
Finn stormed into the cafeteria after Kurt, "You can't do this to him."
Kurt sighed and rolled his eyes, "You're overreacting." Violet was confused. She thinks that they're talking about Kurt's duet with Sam, but it's unclear.
"If he sings with you, you're painting a bullseye on his back." Finn persisted.
Kurt frustratedly said, "Once again, your closeted homophobia seeps to the surface like the contents of a cracked cesspool." Kurt started to move in line to get his lunch.
"Don't give me that. Look, I know I shouldn't have used that word in your basement, but it's not like you were innocent. I really like you, Kurt. But the fact of the matter is, the way you were all over me last year? If I did that to a girl, she'd take out a restraining order."
Violet decided to stay back and let the boys argue between themselves. "You have issues with me being gay, I get it."
"No, actually, I don't. I have issues with the fact that you don't understand that no means no."
Kurt moves away to another station of food in the cafeteria, "I just want to sing with him."
Finn quickly moved to Kurt, "Then you don't give a damn about any of us. If he sings with you, I guarantee, within a week, he'll take so much crap, he'll have to quit Glee Club. Your call dude." Finn starts to move away from Kurt until he realized that he needed to talk to Violet.
