I arrived back at the festival and quickly mixed into the crowd, trying to avoid any of Pogtopia's attention. It worked well, although I came into a few close calls with some of them, especially Techno.

For the next twenty or so minutes I pretended like I was enjoying the activities and games and I even went and got myself a small slice of cake at one point, only disappointed to find it dry and crumbling apart. They really shouldn't have exiled the best baker in the country. I ended up giving the cake away to a small girl around 5 who was eyeing it hopefully.

I looked up as Quackity's voice boomed out from the speakers which had been placed around the area.

"Alright Manburgians and friends! Let's all start making our way over to the podium and take a seat!" Quackity sounded cheerful. Almost at once, everyone stopped what they were doing and started all making their way to where Quackity had told them to, in a strict uniformity which I hated. It was almost like they were scared of Quackity and Schlatt and didn't want to find out what would happen if they didn't obey their orders straight away.

I followed the others and found a seat somewhere in the middle. I was about to sit down when I felt someone grab my arm and pull me away from my seat.

"Hey! Get off of me!" I pulled my arm back aggressively, but Techno's grip remained. "Let go Techno."

He eyed my green jacket and raised an eyebrow. "You're going to sit at the front with us."

"What?"

"Sorry, I'm only following orders."

Giving up, I followed him to the front, to the very seat I was sat in when I got exiled from L'manburg.

"Techno! You didn't need to be so aggressive!" A voice next to me spoke out. I turned and looked at my brother.

"Karl?"

Karl's face relaxed a bit as he looked at me. "Hey Y/n." He turned back to Techno, frowning. "I just told you to bring her over here, not drag her against her will."

Techno just sat down, to my dismay, in the other seat next to me and shrugged. "I only followed the orders you gave me."

"Whatever, it's fine." I reassured Karl as he opened his mouth to say something. "Honestly, I'm fine."

A cough in the mic made us all jump and we, along with everyone else in the audience, fell silent. We were all looking up at Tubbo smiling nervously into the microphone up on stage.

"Um, hi everyone!" His voice shook a little from the nerves but his smile remained on his face. To his left stood Schlatt in his usual black and red tie and to his right stood Quackity in his beanie.

"I hope that you are all finding the festival enjoyable and entertaining since we did spend a while planning it." Tubbo laughed nervously, but I could tell that his confidence was slowly building up. "Now, Mr Jschlatt himself had given me the honor of giving the opening speech at this amazing event." Everyone clapped politely when Tubbo gestured towards Schlatt, who bowed his head, smiling. Tubbo cleared his throat.

"Thank you ladies and gentlemen." He raised his hand up in the air for silence. "Now, a wise man once told me that L'manburg was like a lettuce."

I scrunched my face up in confusion. Interesting comparison, I would say.

"There are so many layers of tasty and healthy goodness and once you wash off all the caterpillars and worms off the surface, it's a pretty goddamn good meal."

There was more cheering for Tubbo, which he beamed at. However, something in my stomach dropped. Surely, he didn't mean what I thought he did? I turned around and saw Tommy and Wilbur on the towers, watching over us, listening to the whole speech. Tubbo continued talking.
