I stared at the dents in the ground, the only reminder of the great, majestic walls which had once surrounded the country. I had seen it from afar from the hill, but up close, it looked more real and so unfamiliar that it made me want to run in the opposite direction.

I walked on, further into the country, towards the podium where the festival would be beginning with Tubbo's opening speech. Every so often, I noticed unusually large spaces inbetween houses where the older, more messy-looking buildings had been teared down, leaving the other houses more isolated and lonely.

I was surprised to see so many people already there when I arrived at the podium. Memories flashed in my mind of the last time that I was here.

"I had just been informed that last night, the leaders of the two parties SCHLATT2020 and SWAG2020 had made a deal."

"the winner of the election, with 46%, is SCHLATT2020."

"You know what I said the day I arrived at L'manburg? I said that things were going to change around here. I looked every citizen in the eyes and said 'You listen to me. Things will be a lot different soon."

I shuddered at the memory of that terrible day. I remembered how desperately I was trying to keep my calm as I did my best to keep Wilbur alive and hunt for food. As much as I hate to admit it, without Dream, we would've all been dead from that very first day.

Schlatt was still out of sight but my goal wasn't to go look for him. No, I had to pretend like I was enjoying the festival and wait for him to come to me. Whilst I watched the other festival goers play games, I looked up to the towers where two tall figures were sat, meaning that Pogtopia was already here. I grimaced. Can't wait to bump into them.

That moment came sooner than I liked when I was watching two people arguing about their score and felt a hand on my shoulder. My hand flew instantly to the dagger in my waistband since my first thought was Schlatt. But when I turned, my heart dropped when I saw Techno instead. In that moment, I kind of wished it was Schlatt.

I moved my hand away from my weapon. Although me and Techno were on rocky terms, he wasn't a threat to me.

"What are you doing here?" He hissed. I blinked innocently.

"I'm simply enjoying the festival. I have as much right to be here as you do." I said simply, without a care in the world. I turned my attention back to the game.

"Am I supposed to believe that you're just here to attend the festival? That you're just gonna sit there and not do anything?" He carried on.

"Yeah, why not? A girl needs to have fun sometimes." I said, shrugging. "Otherwise I might go mad. Like Wilbur over there." I cocked my head in the direction of the towers.

Techno spoke with a low growl. "Don't do anything stupid. I can't carry out this plan and keep an eye on you at the same time."

I rolled my eyes without even realizing. "Then don't. I'm not going to do anything that you need to worry about."

Techno scoffed. "The fact that you're here worries me. Who's to say that you're not here to stop us from pressing that button?"

My smile faltered a little. "You better go and start preparing for your plan or just go and do something else." I said. "Smile, Techno, this is the beginning of a new era of peace." I said sarcastically and then walked off. I could feel Techno's eyes on the back of my head before I turned the corner, out of his sight.

I reached into the pocket of my coat that Eret had let me have. My hands closed around a cold, round surface and I gripped it tightly. I only had one poison potion, only one chance to pull this off. Eret had warned me that the potion wouldn't last long since his brewing skills were extremely limited so I knew that I had to act fast.
