I had been prepared to face the others, but that was before my conversation, or, shouting match, with Techno. Now, I felt so mentally drained that I didn't even want to go out of my room. And so I didn't.
I heard when Niki and Tubbo came back from god knows where, as well as Tommy and Wilbur coming back from their nether trip. At least Techno still had the decency to tell them to leave me alone.
After I had finished arguing with Techno, I had retired to my room and wiped away the tears in my eyes, which kept coming back, no matter how many times I wipe them away. Techno's words stung because they were true. He had said what I had been too afraid to admit to myself. I was the exact same as my father.
Then, as if on cue, the dreaded man himself walked in, his cloak flowing out behind him, trying to act as if nothing had happened. I could just feel his presence standing in the doorway. So, naturally, I did what any other person would do.
I ignored him and pulled the covers over my head.
I heard him sigh before he spoke out.
"Wilbur wants you to join us for a meeting." He said. "It's important." He added when I didn't react.
"What's the meeting about?" I grumbled. I could feel Techno getting impatient.
"Does it matter? If it's important then you should be there. You are on Pogtopia's side, aren't you?" He questioned. I came out of my little hiding place from under the covers and sat up.
"Are you?" I shot the question back at him, catching him by surprise.
"Of course I am." He snapped.
"Right." I said, looking away and staring at the blank wall straight ahead. "I'm just wondering if anyone else knew about the plan to blow up Manburg, except me and Tommy." I said, glancing back at him. Techno sighed in frustration.
"Wilbur already told you that the plan was stupid and it's been called off." Techno said. "It's in the past now. Just let it go."
I let out a short laugh. "Funny how that's coming from you. The great, almighty Technoblade, can't even get over a single heartbreak." I pouted sarcastically. I knew that these were not kind words but I had said them with the intention to hurt. To strike him where it still hurt. He had hurt me and I intend to hurt him back. An eye for an eye, as they say.
Techno's face remained expressionless. "I'm not doing this again. Not now that there are people here." He murmured. I smirked, amused.
"You mean, you don't want the others to hear how you have a weakness too?" I said.
"What are you trying to get out of this, Y/n?" He asked, his arms crossed and face straight as a line.
"I'm saying, don't you dare to try and blow up Manburg. You can say that it's all in the past but it's all bullshit." I said, lowering my voice. "Just because Wilbur says he's not crazy anymore doesn't mean that it's true."
"It's cute how determined you are to protect this little country." Techno said, amused. "Shame though. I can't see what you find so special about it."
I glared at him. "You live a sad life but at least you have a family and a place to call home. And for the last 3 years, I've had neither, until L'manburg. There, I had a home and those people were my family. So don't fucking ruin this for me." I spat.
"I don't even have to do anything." Techno sneered. "Give yourself a little more time and you'll do it all by yourself."
I gave him a sarcastic look to hide the painful truth of my next words. "Right, because I'm daddy's little monster."
Technoblade didn't say anything else as he knew that if he did, he would take it too far again. I go up from the bed and walked past him without saying anything. He followed behind me and we both entered the meeting room where everyone else was crowded around the same round table that hadn't changed since the last time I'd been here. I could feel everyone's eyes on me as I walked in. Great, I was not looking forward to this.
I could tell by the way that everyone was looking at me that they desperately wanted to make sure that we were on good terms since they did kick me out. But, I made no effort to make eye contact with them, however, I did walk up to Tubbo, who was standing beside me, and gave him a big hug.
"I'm so glad you're ok." I murmured. He hugged me back after a moment of shock.
"I'm glad that you're ok." He whispered back. We pulled away and I looked up, accidentally catching Niki's eyes. I gave her a small, half-smile, to let her know that we were cool.
My attention snapped to Wilbur as he cleared his throat, as did everyone else's. Wilbur placed his hands down on the table as he spoke.
"Now, I know that Y/n is back but you can all say your hellos after this meeting." He said. "This is important." He cleared his throat once more.
"Now, just to keep Y/n up to date, Tubbo is now staying with us since it isn't safe for him in Manburg anymore and Quackity announced his switch in loyalty to Schlatt and is also therefore staying with us." I nodded, since this was all pretty obvious stuff. Wilbur continued.
"And since Pogtopia had grown a lot from just the three of us," He pointed at me, Tommy and himself. "Not to mention now that we have Techno on our team, I think that it is only right for us to do what we had been preparing for all this time." He took a moment to pause and look around at each and every one of our determined faces.
"As soon as it hits dawn on the 16th, we will go to war." Wilbur said, staring to pace around. "No matter what it takes, no matter how long it takes us-" His voice carried confidence but was interrupted by Techno.
"No matter who we have to get through to win." He said, looking at me.
I stared back at him, not giving him the satisfaction of getting a reaction out of me. Of course, he meant Dream. I'm pretty sure every single person in the room did. But I was determined that I would not be the one that lets the team down. Not even if I have to get through Dream to do it.
"Whatever we need to do to win." I said, tilting my head and looking back to him, giving a small, meaningless smile.
Wilbur decided to gloss over our very clear tension. "Now, I need you all to understand one thing : Schlatt is our goal here. If we take down Schlatt, then their army falls apart. If Schlatt dies, then Manburg loses. It's simple."
Niki nodded. "You want to take down an army of aliens, you always go for the mothership."
"Dream's not an alien, Niki." Tommy said frowning. "Although, he is quite green-"
"Tommy it's a saying." Tubbo said casually, as if this was an everyday thing, which I knew it was.
"It's a stupid saying. Aliens aren't even real!" Tommy exclaimed.
"Whatever!" Wilbur said, raising his voice a bit to be heard over Tommy. "The point is, we all understand what is to happen, right?" He looked at all of us again, his eyes finally making it's way to mine. I nodded.
"On the 16th, we take it all back." I said.
