Y/n's POV

I left the cave to find some food and resources for us since we basically had nothing. I had left Tommy with Wilbur, leaving them my dagger in case anything happened, which meant that I was walking through the forest, completely unprotected. I shivered from the cold and my mind was full of thoughts, all tangled and knotted, so that I couldn't make out what they meant. But one thing I knew for sure that I would never admit out loud was that we had lost. The chances of us surviving out here in the wild with no resources were slim.

No, I told myself. I couldn't think like that. If I believed that then we might as well already be dead. No, I've survived on my own before. I can do it again.

But last time, you didn't have a dying man in your care.

I shook away the thought. I needed to focus on getting food and wood to start a fire to keep us warm for the night. I scavenged around the forest but it seemed to be taunting me, offering me anything edible. In the end, I had ended up with a pile a berries, which I carried with my jacket. I slung the makeshift bag over my shoulder and made my way back to the cave, hoping that no mobs would attack me with the setting sun just over the horizon. However, as I neared the cave, there was a figure making their way towards our current sanctuary. They were nothing more than a silhouette, a black shadow against the setting sun but they were human.

Which meant they were potentially a threat.

I crept nearer to the cave and dropped the berries and twigs on a pile on the floor behind a bush. I picked up a rather jagged rock, and I knew it wasn't much, but it had to hurt if I threw it at someone, right?

I clutched the stone in my hands tightly, to the point it had started to form new cuts and scratched on my hand. I raised it, ready to hurl at whoever the figure was coming closer and closer to where Wilbur and Tommy were sat in. I stepped out, and just as I was about to throw the stone, the figure raised their hands up in defense.

"Woah, woah, I surrender, okay?"

I lowered the stone in surprise. "Dream?"

He nodded and I dropped the stone onto the floor.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed. "Someone could've followed you here!"

Dream shrugged, knowing that by 'someone' I meant Schlatt and his followers. "All the attention is currently on Karl and Tubbo." He said. "I think Schlatt expects them to go look for you. In fact, I think that's what he's counting on. For them to lead him to you."

I nodded. It did make sense, I mean, after all, Tubbo was our best friend and Karl was my brother and Schlatt was smart to keep a close eye on them.

"How did you find us?" I asked, suddenly.

"Karl told me where you were." He said simply. I should've known.

"And why did you feel the need to visit?" I said coldly. "You had a part to play in this you know."

Dream sighed. "I figured you might still be mad about that." He held up a bag which perked my interest. "So, I've brought peace offerings." He opened the bag and rummaged around. "I've brought food, extra clothes from your house, tools, a flint and steel," He pulled out something from the bag, which I couldn't make out in the dark. He put it in my hands. "And, I thought that you might want this." I tightened my grip around the familiar handle of my beloved diamond ax and I felt a rush of hope inside of me.

I knew we were going to get through it. We would survive.

"Y/n, is that you?" A voice called out, pulling me from my thoughts. Tommy came out of the cave and turned the corner to where we were stood, dagger in hand, pointing at us threateningly.
