36 | SNU Auditions (1)

The day of the SNU auditions had arrived. All the students at Chungah school were buzzing with nervousness and excitement. The audition site was not far away from Chungah, so many students along with their parents departed from the school to the audition site.

Mari was with Jenny and Suryeon was with Seokkyung. Even though things had been a bit iffy between Suryeon and Seokkyng, Suryeon wanted to still show support to Seokkyung. She hoped that this gesture would really show Seokkyung that she was present and cared for her.

Seokkyung was not too worried about the audition, just because of the principal's recommendation plus her father's help. The audition was more a formality as opposed to an actual entrance exam. Unlike her other classmates who were still busy practicing right till the very end, Seokkyung was just calmly playing with her phone.

(flashback)

Appa! Did you arrange everything already?

Relax Seokkyung, and yes I have someone on the board who will make sure they rate you highly on the admission test, as long as you don't screw up. You will easily get into SNU. Trust your Appa, after all I am the only one who cares for you.

All I want is to prove to Omma that I can do it.

My dear daughter, since when has your Omma ever cared about you?

Appa, don't talk bad about Omma. Just make sure I get into SNU and I will do what you want me to do.

(flashback ends).

When the staff member announced that it was Jenny's turn. Seokkyung quickly slipped away. SNU auditions were all blind auditions, Jenny walked to the centre of the stage and waited for the signal to begin. A couple of seconds later, the signal was given. Jenny began to sing, but from behind the curtain at the side of the stage Seokkyung emerged. She was holding up a sign that read - Your Father is a murder - followed by - Jenny is a murder's child.

Jenny was not expecting Seokkyung to sabotage her to that extent, she was slightly caught off guard and midway through the song she actually choked her notes. But she chose to ignore Seokkyung, composed herself and regained her momentum for the last section of the song. Even though Jenny was not super happy with her audition, she felt she did decently well.

When she turned to leave the stage, Seokkyung was there waiting for her.

Seokkyung ah, it seems your patterns are getting a bit old. Are you running out of ideas on how to torture people? Let me give a warning, continue this up and the next person to be destroyed is not me, it would be you. Hmph.

With that Jenny walked away, what Seokkyung didn't know was that Jenny actually had no intentions of getting into SNU. The only reason why she chose to attend the audition was because she wanted to see how she would do overall. She had already spoken to her mother about wanting to leave music, and Mari could see how much torture and pain music had brought to her daughter, so she fully support Jenny's decision to actually try for another major.

If Seokkyung had known that, perhaps she would not have bothered trying. But since she did, she just handed Jenny another weapon to be used against her.
