After the ceremony, Prof James and Maria took Seokhoon and Rona out to celebrate after the finals. They were really happy that they both did beyond expectations. They had initially thought that the two of them would go as far as the semi-finals but to not only enter the finals but actually place in the top 6. It was going to be an amazing headline for Juillard. Especially considering how both of them are still 1 years, their futures were bright!
Tomorrow Seokhoon and Rona were scheduled for several interviews from different international media outlets. Juilliard too would want to release news of their students' achievements as well. James and Maria told Seokhoon and Rona to make sure they rest well. Now with the finals all over, the stress from them both was finally released. By the time they arrived back at their hotel, they were exhausted and went to bed almost right away.
The next day, Seokhoon and Rona had a fairly tight schedule. They had several news outlets, especially ones from Korea who were hoping to interview them. It was not common for an Asian to place high for the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the ratio was often 5:1. So whenever an Asian does place high, there would for sure be high media coverage.
A professional hair and makeup artist was hired by Juillard to get the couple ready for the various interviews of press photographers they had to take. All together the two of them had 3 different outfit changes. The first interview began at around 9AM, another hotel room was rented out so that Seokhoon and Rona could comfortably sit down and be interviewed. This was the first time that any of the reporters (who usually covered arts and culture sections) heard of Seokhoon and Rona.
When the reporters first entered the room and met Seokhoon and Rona who had stood up to greet them. Their first impression was that these two really matched; of course that was the intended effect because Seokhoon insisted that their outfits match on some level. Second was that they were a beautiful pairing, Seokhoon with his height, smart jawline and perfect portions, matched Rona slightly smaller frame, with white fair skin and sweet smile. Every reporter that they met that day all left the meeting with the exact same thought "What a perfect couple".
Seokhoon and Rona's first round of interviews took place from 9 till 11:30 AM. For this round, the couple wore matching pink outfits; with Rona wearing a pink lace skirt and cream white top, and Seokhoon wearing the opposite (pink shirt and cream white pants). During the interview they were mainly asked about their thoughts of the competition, how they felt making it into the top 6 and their studies in Juillard. Rona and Seokhoon were humble throughout the interview, even though they knew it was an amazing feat to be in the top 6. But nevertheless, they were able to make it that far because of their Professors spending much time practising and mentoring them.
