154 | Own Happiness

The next few days of the holiday were spent lazing around and slowly exploring Luxembourg. They did quite a bit of shopping, enjoying the beautiful architecture and the Christmas spirit throughout the city. They spent a lot of their time just lazing around in bed, sleeping in and just in each other's presence. They also called home every day after Christmas Day.

Seokhoon recognised that he had neglected Seokkyung and so he would spend at least 30 minutes talking to Seokkyung, asking her about her day and how her emotional and mental state are. It seems that Seokkyung was slowly getting better, she was now willing to own up to her mistakes. She had been going to therapy with Suryeon so they could learn more about each other and work out past hurts. Seokhoon could see that Seokkyung was slowly maturing and finding out who she is without her parents.

Rona in the meantime spent time talking to her mother and also Jenny. SHe knew that there were good feelings between her mother and Yoonchul, although Rona never told her mother the secret she knew. She wanted to bless them, she tried to probe if things were going well between them as subtly as possible. Yoonchul had been focused a lot on Eunbyeol and JohnBio as of late, but still according to her mother - he made time to come to her office about 3 times a week to have lunch with her.

On that note, it does seem that things were going well. They were both probably more cautious because of their children, Rona hoped that in time her mother would take the first step in finding her forever happiness. She knew that her mother was dedicated to her, but still, Rona had found her forever happiness; she wanted that also for her mother.

31st December, Luxembourg

It was the day before the new year, initially Rona was wondering if they would be doing a bit of sightseeing, but looking at the weather, she decided against it. It had gotten colder the past few days and the snow was falling harder. They only went to church that very morning but after that they spent the rest of their day at the hotel.

Seokhoon decided they should have a nice dinner at the hotel restaurant followed by maybe some drinks at the bar. Since they became legal, they did not often drink. So since today was a special day, they decided to indulge in a bit of alcohol. At about 6PM, they began to prepare for their New Year's Eve dinner. Rona wore her hair down, wearing the same set of jewelry that Seokhoon bought for her for Christmas. She wore a fitting black dress with a fishtail skirt and black high heels. Seokhoon matched her and wore a black velvet suit with an open collar white shirt.

They really looked beautiful and sexy at the same time. At 7PM, they headed down to the hotel restaurant for their dinner. In two days time they would be flying back to New York and school would resume again in a week's time. This was really the last few days where they could enjoy and relax.

They entered the restaurant, Seokhoon's hand laid firmly on Rona's back, the spot where if he edged down further, would be on her butt. Rona's hand was circled around Seokhoon's waist. They looked like a model couple walking into the restaurant. Seokhoon had already made reservations and so they were immediately shown to their table.

After they had placed their order, they shared about their conversations they had with their family.

Is Seokkyung doing better?

Yeah, based on our conversations so far, she is. She seems happier in her tone and words. I think finally realising her mistakes and trying to become a better person has worked wonders on her. From Omma's conversation, the two have really focused on bonding again. I guess it helped that they both decided to attend therapy together. I think it allowed them to really say their feelings and better understand one another. What about your side?

Omma seems to be good, she has been focused on work and really trying to position the Shimwoo Art Centre in Seoul. I think she has a rather ambitious vision for it, but knowing Omma I know she can do it.

What about Yoonchul Ahjussi?

She didn't say much. I think she is careful not to give me too many details. I guess she is trying to spare my feelings since you know he did betray us once.

Are you against them getting back together?

At first, yes. Just because I didn't know if he would betray my mom again. But when she told me that he was asking for forgiveness and the circumstances of what led him to make that decision. To be honest, I can't get angry - at the end of the day he was protecting his daughter. Even though he didn't know at that time that I was also his daughter.

Rona had known all along about her birth secret, even though Yoonhee never told her. She could see that there was something more than just the 'first love' label between them. She had guessed that there was something perhaps related to her birth that was also at play. Yoonhee was unaware but Rona actually pestered Logan to tell her the truth, and finally Logan relented telling her that she was indeed the child of Yoonchul. It did come as a shock, but if her mother could have a loving marriage between the two of them, then in that sense - it would be perfect.

Seokhoon reached over and rubbed Rona's hands. Rona had told him her secret about the time when they had arrived in New York. He was rather shocked to find out that Eunbyeol and Rona were actually half-sisters. It is rather ironic considering how different their personalities are from each other. Rona smiled as she felt Seokhoon's comfort. I am okay, I feel that after all we have been through - especially our parents, they of all people deserve happiness right? It can't just be us children who get it.

You are a kind hearted person Rona. The fact that you can forgive him for the sake of your mother - not many people would be able to do such a thing. I am sure in time the two of them will make the best decision for themselves. Their food arrived, and the two of them left their conversation at that - at the end of the day, their parents would know what to do. With the Hera Place war over - it was time for all of them to find their own happiness and their own paths in life.
