Villa, Somewhere in Seoul
Seokkyung had left the Penthouse for over two weeks. At first Dante had promise Seokkyung that within a week she would be flying to Italy. However 2 weeks had come and gone, she was still stuck at this villa. Even though she was allowed free reign and could come and go as she pleased. As the university term was soon going to begin, it was a stark reminder to her that she was not going places.
She had not left the Chunngah class WhatsApp group - and she was seeing all her classmates going to different universities. She was beginning to think that her father was stringing her along.
Finally one day, Dante came to the villa to visit. Oftentimes Dante would spend most of his time between King's Holding and Hera Place. But he would occasionally come to the villa to do work. Seokkyunng finally caught up to her dad and demanded that she know what the hell was going on.
You said that I would be leaving for Italy last week, but now we are 2 weeks in. What is going on?
Seokkyung ah, your dad just got awarded the Cheoseo District. I am very busy now trying to get investors so I can build my vision. Have mercy on your father alright, when things are a bit better I will get going on your application.
By then would be when!?
Sigh, look, you have my credit card. Just go shopping, eat, and enjoy the sights of Seoul. You are so free you can do whatever you want. Dante blew off Seokkyung and then his phone rang, he left his office to answer the call, leaving Seokkyung fuming.
After Dante left, Seokkyung decided to search his office desk. Since staying in this villa, his office space was always locked. She looked through the various drawers when she found a brown envelope. She took out the contents to see that they were photographers. More specifically, they were the photographers that Seojin used to threaten Dante with. Those were not the original. She looked carefully at each photograph and realised that they were photos proving that Dante was there at Logan's crime scene (even though he should have been in prison at the time).
She quickly hid the envelope in her jacket pocket just in time before Dante returned to the room. As much as she still trusted her father, she needed a backup plan. If she used this information to force her father to take care of her, then why not? Suryeon and Seokhoon have clearly abandoned her, so now she has to fend for herself.
Hera Place, Seoul
Omma omma! I did it, I got in!
Mari and Dongpi ran in from the kitchen when they heard Jenny's screams. What! You got in? Jenny was jumping for joy in her room, the results of the entrance exams were out today. Jenny had hoped that she would be able to get into Korea University and she made it. She had really focused all her attention and effort into her studies for the last 2 and ½ months. When she had decided to forgo SNU she turned most of her time that would have been dedicated to practice, to studying. Her mom even signed her up for cram school to help bridge the gap regarding her studies.
She was really worried she wouldn't be able to get in as Korea University was a popular school, plus the faculty she was aiming for was a tough one. Jenny had decided to aim for the faculty of Public Administration. As much as she loved music, her experience at Chungah had shaped her greatly. She realised everything that Chungah did wrong.
Having once bullied others and then flipping and becoming the victim of bullying. She was both embarrassed and ashamed by her actions. Had the school system or perhaps even the government tackle such problems faster; perhaps Seolah would not have died, perhaps the environment of Chungah would have been better. She knew that it was not going to be an easy road being a civil servant, but when she thought of the possibility that she could help improve the education system - help prevent another Seolah or Rona or even Jenny, that would be one of the best ways that she can live her life in repentance while also serving the community.
Mari was initially very worried when Jenny told her of her choice, but she saw just how passionate Jenny was. The very fact that Jenny dedicated every waking hour to studying, determined to get into Korea University. As a mother, she could not be more proud. Her daughter was choosing to be someone better, someone that was willing to help others in need, less fortunate than her. It was a 180 degree change from what Jenny was before, Mari knew that with this. Jenny would not repeat the mistakes that either she or her husband had made. They had let greed and power get in the way, Jenny was not going to let that happen to her.
While Jenny was excited about finally starting University, she wondered. I hope Minhyeok got what he wanted.
Note: I really love Jenny's character development - she is going to be a rockstar! Also for those who have been following you can see that I have added the chapter numbers, I realise before the content page actually looks a bit messy soooo I had to do ALLL my chapters but now i think it looks neater ain't it (:
Feel proud for no apparently reason
