136 | Demise

Dante was hiding out at an apartment somewhere in Seoul. It had been 2 days since the revelations of his crimes, the police had issued a warrant for his arrest. He was still waiting for the rest of his money as well as a way out of the country. Now that his face was everywhere, he knew he couldn't leave the country via airplane. He needed to sneak out of the country by boat to China and then escape from there. He instructed Dongpil to find a way out of the country for him.

In the two days, Secretary Yang (who probably took all his money) still had not been found, Dante couldn't wait around for the money anymore. The longer he hid out, the higher chance he would be found. He needed to leave tonight. Dongpil got one of his men to inform him of the details. He was to appear at this specific port by 11:30 PM no earlier; no later. He wore dark clothes and a cap to cover his face as he made his way to the port. He had along with him a bag that was filled with whatever money he had left along with his passport.

He appeared at the port at 11:30 PM sharp. He did not see anyone around until he saw someone standing in the shadows. He asked the person if he was the one that he needed to talk to in order to leave the country. The person didn't reply, instead walked out from the shadows. Dante was shocked, it was Suryeon. Before he could run, two men came and grabbed him by the arms. As he was struggling, the bag of money fell on the floor. Suryeon came over and opened it and looked at all the cash that Dante had.

Planning on fleeing the country it seems?

With that Dante was dragged to a warehouse near the port. He was tied to a chair and gagged. In front stood Suryeon surrounded by at least 5 men who were standing at every entrance. Suryeon took out a piece of paper - it was the paper of the loans that Dante had taken out for Cheoseo District.

You owe people money you really think they will let you flee without collecting the money + interest back? Right then, in walked the various loan sharks that Dante had met. Suryeon handed the bag of money over to them but whatever was in it was clearly not enough for any of them.

Since both your children have abandoned you and we are divorce, there is no one to take over your loan but yourself. It seems you have to pay with your body. Right then, Dongpil walked it. Dante screamed for Dongpil to save him, but he didn't bulge he just bowed respectfully to Suryeon.

So that was it, you were working with them! And I trusted you! Dongpil had nothing to say to Dante anymore, seeing him in this state was just as satisfying for him. With that everyone else left, and the only people left were Dante and the loan sharks and their henchmen. Suryeon and Dongpil walked out, she handed him several envelopes of money.

Here make sure your men are rewarded, they have shown loyalty not only to you but to me.

What of Secretary Yang?

He is safe, he has left Seoul with his mother. We have already transferred her to a hospital which Yoonchul owns. He has already adopted a new identity.

Good good, make sure to monitor him a while longer. You never know who could seek revenge on Dante's behalf.

I understand. Are you still going with the plans to demolish Hera Place?

Yes. Too much blood has been spilled there, it would be wrong for us to continue to live there. Don't worry, I have told Mari already that I will give her a place in the new Shimwoo Tower when it is constructed.

Come let us leave. After they are done with Dante, make sure to pay them back fully for what Dante owed them. That way they will get off our tail.

With that, the next morning, the police discovered a body that was all battered and torn, tied to a chair. When they took his prints they realised this was the fugitive they were chasing after - Joo Dante. There were no CCTV cameras to indicate who was there, after interviewing several employees of King's Holding - they discovered that Dante actually owed a lot of people money. It was concluded that there is a high chance one of these loan sharks came to collect and decided he would pay it with his life. With that his case was closed, and this was the end of Joo Dante. 

Note: I really didn't know how to kill Dante without Suryeon or the other cast killing him, so I went with this.
