"I love him" John stared at his pride and joy. Gage Camila. He was the very last golden dragon in the world, his mother, Linda Camila was tragically killed by greedy thefts wanting her gold, her precious healing locks and her scales. John was protecting her with his life when she passed all her magic onto Gage, he was still in the egg. Life had many tricks up their sleeves as John was struck unconscious by magic and Linda was kidnapped, luckily, the egg was left untouched. When John awoke, he spent days, almost months searching for Linda, before seeing her lifeless corpse, chopped and being sold at high prices for spells and potions. Stricken with anger, sadness and grief, he burned the village down. He left his old home and traveled all the way up to the mountains where his new purpose in life was protecting his egg.
After almost a year of the egg not hatching, John was fearing the worst, Rumors started spreading of a golden egg at the top of the mountain, when it was dark out, it would shine beautifully in the night sky. Many have tried to grab it, but John would work day and night, scaring people off. Until one brave or rather one foolish thief managed to make it past and almost steal the egg, John pleaded. Now the thief's name was none other then Felix God, He never heard a dragon plead for the egg's life before. "That's my son your carrying" John looked at him with pleading eyes, a stricken heart broken father, who was only trying to protect his son. Felix felt guilt, it hit him like a bag of bricks and he had to give the egg back. He knew what it felt like to lose his parents and well.. he wasn't gonna make the egg go through the same thing.
Now here they were, the egg hatch and little Gage Camila was born into the world. He was a beautiful golden dragon with blonde golden locks. His scales were so beautiful and shiny. "How is my baby today?" John watched as Gage crawled on the, sorta clean, tarp laid before them. The crew decided to stop and take a break by a crick. Felix was taking sips of water, Nat was prancing around and chasing butterflies while Mike was attending to the horses. John was just watching Gage, he promised him, nothing bad will ever happen and he kept that promise.
Well.. until one night.
"You sure this is a good idea?" Faz whispered as they rounded near the cart. "Duh! It'll be fun" Jerry giggled as he urged Max forward. "Jamey's gonna be pissed" Faz muttered to himself. "Hey! We're just gonna steal a little bit of food and more gold" Max raised an eyebrow as they slowly made their way to the side of the cart. "Aren't you guys rich though?" Jerry silenced him as he heard voices coming from inside. "Man I ..... haha! ..... y'know this ..... That's hilarious!" It was really broken up, but it sounded like multiple people talking. "Damnit, this is a bad idea, let's go back" Faz pleaded. "It's fine" Jerry whispered and started heading towards the back of the cart. Faz looked at Max, silently pleading at him to talk to Jerry. Max shrugged and said, "Look man, I'm trying to get laid" He followed Jerry leaving Faz spluttering behind them.
Jerry slowly pulled back the curtain, luckily, there was no one there, but supplies and another curtain leading to the main part of the cart. He could see two silhouettes, talking quietly. He sighed in relief and grinned and turned towards Max and Faz. "See? Piece of cake" he peered inside and found nothing of interest before he heard small chittering. "What was that?" Faz asked as he peered inside. Jerry scanned the small area before seeing a glowing tail. "Holy shit" Jerry muttered and moved a few boxes out of the way. A small golden dragon was chewing on some of the boxes, clearly he was either hungry or he wanted to play. "It's a golden dragon" Max whisper yelled. Faz tilted his head, "golden dragon?" Max turned to him. "Legend has it, there was a golden egg, the very last of it's kind, guarded by one of the most darkest and dangerous dragon. Also the last of it's kind, I never knew they were true! I thought was just an old tale, but- there's no other golden dragons! There hasn't been in almost a decade! There was this.. healing dragon, but... she was killed. Her lover went on a rampage and burned everything in his path. Strangely, he also disappeared. I wonder..." He started to process everything as Faz took account for every word his said. 'He's alone too! Kind of like.. me' Faz looked at Jerry. He hasn't moved and was still staring at the small infant. The small baby dragon, crawled over and chittered at him. Jerry snapped out of whatever trance he was in and squealed softly, "Baby" he muttered. "Baby!" He softly whispered-yelled. He slowly picked him up, as gently as he could and looked at the small tag around his neck. 'Gage Camila' Jerry read and turned to Max and Faz. "We have to take him" he whispered.
