"I let go of her hand for Two seconds! Where could she have gone!" Jessica screamed as she ran through the store searching for her baby.
"ISLA! Isla come here, this isn't funny!"
By now Jessica has drawn a lot of attention. Workers are now helping her, and no one can find Isla.
Jessica started to hyperventilate so Catherine grabbed her hand and tried calming her down.
"Jessica, it's okay. We are going to find her. She was just here, she probably just took off to find the toys."
"Why didn't I just take her to the toys?" Jessica cries. "My sweet little baby!"
Just then a woman came running in holding a Isla.
"She was outside!" The woman shouts. She was so distraught that her voice was barely understandable.
Jessica turned and gasped at the sight. It was her baby covered in blood.
"ISLA! What happened?!" Jessica takes her daughter.
"I saw her run out of the store but I was too far and it all happened so fast! It was a hit and run. I don't even know if they noticed because she wasn't in front of the car, they just.."
The woman's voice started to disappear to Jessica. Instead she blended in with the chaos going on around her.
Jessica didn't know what to do. She was practically frozen there holding Isla.
Everyone worked around her, trying to get Isla the help she needed.
**
Jessica drove in the ambulance with Isla. She was traumatized, but she needed to be with her baby.
Catherine called the house and her family rushed over to the hospital. Sarah of course called Danny and he left what he was doing to be there.
Once arriving at the hospital Jessica had no choice but to leave Isla and wait with Catherine.
Not knowing if her baby would live or die was the most horrible and useless feeling Jessica has ever experienced.
Danny rushed in and Jessica lost it as he held her in his arms.
"That's my baby, Danny. She lost so much blood.. what am I going to do? I can't lose her. I love her so much!" Jessica sobbed.
"You're not gonna lose her, Jessie. They're helping her. It's going to be alright."
Just then a woman walks out and speaks to Catherine.
"Are you Isla's mother?"
"I AM!" Jessica says.
"Oh! I'm sorry. Do you know Isla's blood type? She needs a transfusion."
Jessica once again froze up. She knew Isla had a rare blood type, and she knew it didn't match hers.
So many negative thoughts ran through Jessica's mind as she thought about not being able to help her child.
Catherine spoke with the nurse since Jessica was unable to.
Jessica didn't hear much of what was going on, she felt as if she were going to pass out at any moment.
Suddenly Jessica snaps back when she hears Danny say, "That's my blood type! Let me go back there! I can help her!"
Jessica felt so blessed to have Danny here. She didn't know he and Isla were the same blood type. It wasn't something that just came up in conversation.
