Danny and Jessica laid cuddled up on the couch, Catherine sat with her feet up on the loveseat beside them, and Sarah sat on the recliner. They were watching tv waiting for Doug and Isla to arrive.
Suddenly Catherine sighs dramatically.
Everyone turns to her and Jessica asks, "Are you okay, mom?"
"I'm done with pregnancy."
Sarah laughs. "You must pay for what you did with my father."
Catherine rolls her eyes.
"You're getting to that uncomfortable stage, aren't you?" Jessica says.
"Yes! Right now me and this girl aren't the best of friends."
Jessica laughs. "I can't wait until we hear her first cry!"
"What makes you think you're gonna be in there, little miss?"
"Why would we want to see that?" Sarah makes a face at Jessica.
"Aw mom, you got to see mine! Why can't I see yours?"
"Jessica, I'm embarrassed!" Catherine chuckles nervously.
"Why? It's a beautiful thing and I want to be there when my baby sister comes into the world."
"Aw." Catherine pouts. "I'm sorry, that's really sweet, Jessie. You want to be in there so bad, and I'm pretty sure Doug would be okay with me just sending him a birth announcement."
Jessica laughs.
"You can be in there."
"Yay! Thank you! I won't be annoying, I promise. I just want to support you the way you supported me. And I want to be there the moment I become a big sister." Jessica smiles proudly.
"Is she not the cutest human?" Danny says before grabbing her and kissing her cheek.
Jessica giggles.
"She is pretty cute. And Jessie, I know you won't be annoying. I just didn't want you to watch me." Catherine chuckles.
"I won't look if you don't want me to. I just want to be in there."
"You're the sweetest."
"I'll watch Isla." Danny says.
"Aw thanks babe." Jessica smiles. Danny kisses her temple.
"You're welcome. We're gonna have fun!"
Just then Doug opens the door carrying Isla.
"Oh they're back!" Jessica says.
"We danced the night away, then stopped for ice cream and pizza. This girl is pooped."
"Aw she fell asleep?"
"Yeah. As soon as she got her ice cream down, her eyelids were falling right at the table."
"Poor baby." Jessica chuckles and lifts her arms.
Doug hands her over and Isla stirs.
"Mommy?" She mumbles.
"Hi pretty girl. Did you have fun?"
"I had so much fun, Mama. . . next year I wanna take my Danny too. . because he's like y best friend. ."
Danny's eyes widen and Jessica smiles.
"He's right here."
Isla opens her eyes and immediately wakes up. "DANNY!"
Danny laughs and takes her from Jessica. "Hi Best Friend." He smiles before making a face at Sarah.
