Isla's first day of school.

"Please don't make me go to school, mommy!  Kindergarten is not gonna be fun."

"You said that about preschool and you loved it, bug."

"Yes but now I'm sad."

"Why are you sad, honey?"

"Because it's so empty."

"The house?"

"Well yeah. . ."

"I know.  It's different, isn't it?"

"Yeah. . . Can you please have a baby?"

"You don't want another crying baby, do you?"

"Well. . I guess not.  I just want more people here.  People.  Not animals.  Why didn't aunt Sarah take her dumb dog with her?"

"Isla, that isn't nice at all.  Don't say that."

"I'm sorry.  I'm just still a little scared of him."

"That's okay, honey."

Isla sighs. "I guess I'll go to school then.  Then I can see new people."

"Yeah!  That's fun, isn't it?"

"Yep. ."

Jessica chuckles and kisses her cheek. "I love you so much."

"Thank you."

"Thank you?!" Jessica shouts.

"Yeah so?"

"What about, I love you too, Mommy!  You're the best mommy in the whole wide world!"

"You are the best mommy ever and ever!" Isla smiles and climbs on Jessica.

"Aw thank you my beautiful girl."

A few hours later.

"Hey pretty girl!  How was your first day as a kindergartner?"

"Well I made some friends and a boy showed me his pee pee."

"What?!"

"Well he showed everyone."

"Why?"

"Well he fell in an aunt pile and had to pull his pants off."

"Oh!" Jessica couldn't help but laugh. "Poor little guy."

"Well. . ." Well is Isla's current favorite word.

"Well what?"

"Well I don't want a little brother anymore."

"You don't?" Jessica chuckles.

"No cause those little things are just weird!"

"I agree!  No babies!"

"Only girls!  I allow you to have a girl baby."

"Oh you allow me?" Jessica laughs. "No thank you, little one!  You're the only girl mommy needs."

"For now."

"Yes." She smiles. "For now."

Jessica's first day of school came and she was extremely nervous.  It hit her that she would be walking into this huge place without knowing a single person.  She was terrified.

"Mom, I think I'm sick."

"What's wrong baby?  What hurts?"

"My stomach."

"Oh no." Catherine pouts and feels her forehead. "You don't have a fever.  Do you feel nauseous?"

"No- I mean Yeah!"

"Jessie. ."

"Yes ma'am?"

"Look me in the eyes."

". . Why?"

"Jessica."

"Okay fine!  I can't lie!  I'm not sick but mommy please don't make me go!"

"Honey, you were so excited before!"

"Yes but I don't know anyone and I'm scared." Jessica said with a pout.

Catherine felt for her daughter.  She looked so worried and upset.  She held her baby girl in her arms as Jessica cried.

"What's wrong with mommy?" Isla walks in.

"She's nervous about her first day at a new school."

"Mommy, don't be nervous!  Do you want me to walk you in like you walked me in?"

"Aw baby girl.  I would love that, sweetie but you have to go to school too.  Mommy will be okay.  I promise."

"She's going to school for you. . Isn't that right, mommy?" Catherine says.

Jessica smiles softly. "That's right.  I am.  I can do it."

"Yeah you can!  Mommy can do anything!" Isla shouts.

"Aw that makes me feel so much better, Isla bug.  I love you."

"I love you more, mommy."

Jessica smiles and lifts up her daughter. "Not possible, kiddo." She then kisses her cheek
