Jessica's birthday.
"Happy Birthday, Jess!"
"Thank you Danny." Jessica smiles. "Are you ready for tonight? After dinner we're playing Mario party and I'm totally gonna beat you again!"
"Heh.. well actually.. about that.... I can't make it."
"You can't?"
"I wish I could Jess, I really do! I promised Claire I would go to her show. It's one night only and-"
"Yeah so is my birthday."
"Jess-"
"It's okay, Danny. Go ahead. Have fun."
"I feel so bad, Jessica."
"Don't." Jessica then walks away before she shows her true feelings.

Lunch.
"Hey.."
"Hi." Jessica smiles softly up to the young boy.
"I don't know if you remember me.. we danced once in freshman year.. I'm Sam."
"I remember you."
"Cool! I just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out some time. You seem really cool and I just—"
Jessica smiles. "Wow. Well um.. actually, today's my birthday and we're all going for pizza then back to the house to play video games.. you wanna come?"
"Really?"
"Why not?" Jessica shrugs.
"Cool! Thanks."
"You're welcome! Give me your number and I'll text you where to meet us."
"Alright."
Danny sat there with his mouth hung open.
"What just happened?" He asks Sarah.
"I think she beat you." Sarah laughs.
