"CHARGE!"
Battlecry filled the air. The sound of screams, whether it be of the brave who did not fear their death, or of the knowledgable, who knew their deaths were coming, penetrated every inch of the open field, carrying out into the distance until it was nothing more than a faint echo in the wind.
Himari Feuerbach was sweating, the handles of her ODM gear clutched so tightly in her wrists she wondered whether or not she was going to snap them in half. She could smell the familiar, thick scent of death that permeated the cloudless sky above. It was almost poetic, the way that so much horror had to happen on one of the finest days that had graced their small world in a long time.
The breeze pushed Himari's hair out of her face - the strands that had fallen from its previously tied-back state now whipping her skin like needles, but she could hardly feel the sting of it through the painful thumping of her heart in her chest.
She knew, she knew that everything came down to this. They had one chance to finish these titans and make it to the final beast who stood between them and their victory. She and Levi had one chance to bring justice to those who had lost their lives fighting for this cause. They had one chance to defeat the furry bastard titan who was about to wipe out the entirety of the Survey Corps.
Himari knew that the pressure of the situation she was in, was written all over her face. Levi could practically hear her heart banging against her ribcage, just begging to be let out. Her breathing was unsteady and shaky, despite how much she tried to hide it. Her pupils had dilated with fear and were darting all across the red-tainted grass below them, but yet her pale face remained steadfast and calm.
"Don't think about it. Kill one and move on to the next. If it grabs you, kill it. If it eats you, kill it. Don't go dying now, Feuerbach," Levi said shortly, raising his voice to be heard over the sound of wind rushing through their ears.
"Yes, sir," Himari replied, sparing a second glance to look up at her captain. Their eyes met for a split second and Himari was surprised to see that there wasn't an ounce of doubt in them. He believed in her - in what she could do, even more than she believed in herself. He gave her a nod and she returned it.
"Now! Fire!" Erwin's cry was the signal for Levi and Himari to part ways. He veered off to the left while she circled around to the right, preparing to decimate the ring of titans that had enclosed them against the wall.
Green smoke filled the air, obscuring the two weapons from view. Himari could see the soldiers below splitting up into their designated squadrons, preparing to attack the beast titan from all sides, even if they knew they wouldn't make it close enough to touch him.
