THE FIRST THING HIMARI DID was slap her hand over Armin's mouth. He squeaked from behind her palm, looking up at her with shimmering, cobalt eyes.

Himari waited tensely, ears searching for any sign of nearby eavesdroppers, who may have overheard her conversation with Armin. When she was totally certain that there was no one else around, she removed her hand slowly from Armin's mouth.

"Himari-" Himari shook her head sternly.

"No." Her voice was firm and there was no sign of shakiness in it. Armin noticed that she didn't even look surprised. In fact, she didn't look as though she believed the words that had come out of his mouth at all.

"Himari-" he tried again but the look she sent him was so sharp, he couldn't help but close his mouth.

"No. First of all, I have no idea what she even looks like and there could be a thousand people outside the walls named Sora. It's impossible to survive out there without ODM gear, let alone a horse. The woman Bertholdt knew is not my mother. It - It can't be my mother." Armin realised that while her voice may have been stable, her hands were not. Her entire body was trembling and her lips were bloodless. She looked as though she'd just gone into shock.

She took a seat on the bench beside him and leaned forward, resting her elbows on the tops of her knees. She hung her head, her necklace dangling in front of her face as she shut her eyes forcefully. Armin sighed.

"Before you think about saying anything, I'll tell you the same thing I told Captain Levi. You didn't see Eren back in that cavern. Learning about his Dad and the Reiss family very nearly took all of his fight out of him. He's changed. He's shouldering enough responsibilities, with the Founding Titan and the Attack Titan, as well as all this new information about Marley, the outside world and everything else he saw in Grisha's memories that we don't know about. He doesn't need the weight of my life hanging over his head, too."

Armin knew that she was right - that Eren was struggling more than he let on. His dull eyes and baritone words were enough to prove her point. Not telling him, however, didn't sit right with him.

"Don't you think he deserves to know? Especially if he... you know... wants kids in the future?" Armin glanced sideways at Himari, who still hadn't moved from her position beside him.

"He's got a little over seven years left to live. Do you really think that Eren would want to start a family, especially if he's already resigned himself to the fact that he's going to die anyway? It's not like there would be anyone left to raise them after he dies, considering I'll be kicking the bucket not long after him, too." Her tone was bitter and resentful. Armin leaned back, not used to hearing such a hateful tone come from the white-haired girl.
