Tony opened a door to the right near the end of the corridor and stepped in, motioning for you to follow him.

You were so overwhelmed when you stepped in the room and saw the Avengers sat around a conference table, that it took all of your being not to gasp and make yourself look like a dork.

"Guys, this is Y/N L/N. She's the employee that saved Peppers life" Tony announced proudly

"Hi! It's such an honour to meet you all!" You said quicker than a normal person would have, which you scolded yourself internally for

Steve was the first person to stand up from the table and come over to you. He towered over you by nearly a foot, maybe more, and you had to look up to face him. "Hi, I'm Steve Rogers" and he shook your hand. Next came Nat, Clint and then Bruce. When Thor came to greet you he took your hand, turned it over and kissed your knuckles instead. You felt like you just wanted to sink into the floor at all the attention you were getting from the literal heroes that were in the room with you.

"Now that introductions are over with, I'll show you to your room" Tony said, turning your attention from the team, gesturing for you to follow him again. You said some awkward goodbyes to the team before you left the room to follow him back into the elevator

"So, how are you feeling, kid?" He asked once the doors had closed and you were going up

"Urm, a bit intimidated and a lot overwhelmed" You chuckled nervously, trying to reign in your heaving breaths.

"Ah, you'll get used to it. I have a feeling you're going to fit right in" Tony smiled at you again

The elevator came to a stop once again and you stepped off into a large room that looked like a lounge. There were a few comfy looking settees and armchairs dotted around the place and a huge plasma screen on the opposite wall hug over an electric fire place that made the space seem homey.

"So, as you can see, this isn't your room but I thought we would stop off here first. Here's the lounge and over here there is the kitchen" he said and pointed over to the right.

You turned to where he was pointing and saw that it was completely open plan and the kitchen was massive too with a dining room table that looked like it would easily fit ten people between the lounge and the kitchen.

Tony took you up two more floors to another corridor. "There's no one living on this floor yet" Tony commented as he opened the first door to the right and you both stepped in. "This will be your room, if you like it."

This time you couldn't help but gasp as you looked at the room you were in. It was huge. Bigger than your whole apartment was. The room you were standing in was just a smaller version of the lounge Tony had showed you two floors down and directly across from where you were stood was an open door that you could see lead to a bedroom. Your feet had a mind of their own as you started to walk towards it and poked your head in. Just off to the left was a king sized bed with more pillows than any one person needed, a nightstand on either side of the head of the bed, both with small reading lamps on them. Over to the right was a wall that was completely made out of windows that had heavy curtains bracketing them and on the opposite side of the room to you was a stylish white desk and chair with two towering book shelves on either side of it.

You turned back around and looked into the lounge area with wide eyes, not believing that whole place was now yours.

"Through that door is your ensuite" Tony chuckled and pointed to a door on your right. " It connects to the lounge and the bedroom. I'll get Happy to pick up your things from your apartment this afternoon and I'll leave you to get settled in"

You turned to Tony before he left and thanked him profusely for everything.

Once he was gone you went to have a look at your new bathroom and you thought you had died and gone to heaven when you saw it, it was that amazing. There was a gorgeous white stand alone bathtub and a huge walk in shower next to it.

You went back into the main room and sat on the settee facing the wall that the TV was mounted on and just gaped at your new rooms for a while longer and went through everything that had happened in the last 24 hours. That time the day before you were just at work sorting out forms and now you were an Avenger!

"Miss L/N" a voice you recognised to be JARVIS came from...somewhere.

"Oh shit!" You gasped, totally not prepared to hear JARVIS in your rooms.

"Apologies for startling you, Miss L/N" JARVIS said, which made you smile like a fiend.

"Its okay JARVIS and you can call me Y/N," you continued to smile to yourself.

"Okay Miss Y/N. The team would like to meet with you in the lounge" the AI informed you

"Oh, okay, I'll be right there. Thanks" you thanked the infamous AI and left your room to head for the lounge, still not completely believing where you were and how you got there

Down in the lounge the team were all scattered around watching TV and chatting but all heads turned to you when you walked in.

"Hi guys, you wanted to see me?" You said nervously, stopped just outside of the elevator.

"No need to be so formal Y/N. Come take a seat, we just want to have a chat" Nat smiled to you and you went over to join them. You subconsciously chose an armchair so you didn't have to sit too close to anyone, trying to hide your nerves by sitting on your hands.

"So, Y/N, tell us a bit about yourself" Steve said as he sat back on the settee

"There's not a lot to tell really, I don't know where to start" You said moving your right hand from under you to pick at the skin around your nails. "I guess I could start with I'm an orphan. Never knew my parents. I don't know if they died or gave me up. All I know is I was bounced around the foster system a lot because no one wanted to adopt me. Every time I thought I might be close to getting adopted the blue shimmer would show up and freak them out and they'd send me back" You saw a lot of sad and sympathetic faces around the room when you looked up, making you feel self conscious. "But it's okay though, I didn't have a terrible childhood, most of my foster families were nice enough" You added with a smile to put them at ease.

"So, this blue shimmer, have you always had it then? And you didn't know what it could do?" Bruce asked, intrigued

"Yeh, for as long as I can remember. It's never done anything like what it did yesterday though" You answered a bit defensively.

"Interesting" Bruce seemed to say to himself

"Well, today will just be getting to know the team but tomorrow is the start of your training. Nat will be the one training you seeing as you're similar heights" Tony informed you and with that you spent the rest of the day chatting with the team and ordering pizza for tea. By the end of the day you knew you were going to love your new life and you were excited for it to start.
