Chapter 55 - Solace, just for a minute

"That's it!" Thor said excitedly. "This was never about stopping Ragnarok...it was about causing Ragnarok. Go to the vault. Surtur's crown. It's the only way" Thor said to Loki

"Not a chance, I'll go," You interjected

"I need you here with me, sister," Thor insisted as he locked eyes with you

"Fine" You glared back to him before turning to Loki. "Be safe, my love"

"And you," Loki said back to you and you gave each other a quick but meaningful kiss

"Get a room you two," Val pretended to heave

"Get going then" You said to Loki and then he teleported himself away to put Thor's plan into action

The rest of you turned back to Hela. She wasn't too far away from you now

Thor surged towards Hela, lightning all around him. Hela conjured multiple black dagger-like weapons and threw them towards you and the group. You threw up shields around you, Val and Heimdall but one of them managed to hit Thor. He took it like a champ and didn't falter as he kept on rushing forwards then collided with Hela.

"Heimdall, get on the ship. If we don't make it, the people need someone to turn to," You instructed him

"Be safe" He said to you before taking off for the ship

"Well, lets tango" Val smirked as she took off and ran towards where Hela and Thor were having it out

You took a breath before heading over there yourself but by the time you reached them something exploded by the palace. You all stopped in your tracks and turned to look at the destruction of the palace as you saw Surtur rising from the roof. He was HUGE! The whole of Asgard seemed to shake as he bought down his sword, piercing the very ground of Asgard.

"No!!" Hela screamed and turned away from you all and headed for Surtur

"Come on! We have to get to the ship!" You yelled to Thor as you helped him up from the ground. Then the three of you ran like bats out of hell for the ship, all the while you were hoping Loki had made it out of the palace before Surtur drove his sword through it

When you were safely on the ship you called out to Loki.

Where are you?! Are you okay?

"Im right here" Loki's voice came from right next to you which made you jump back in shock and yelp

"Dear Odin! Don't sneak up on me!" You gasped and hit him lightly in the shoulder before pulling him in for a hug, watching the ship pull away from Asgard over his shoulder

"Your shoulder is bleeding" Loki informed you when you had pulled out from the hug

"You should be the God of Stating the Obvious, you know that?" You chuckled as you pulled your armour away from your shoulder. You'd nearly completely forgotten you got shish kebabed while you had been fighting.

"Here, let me," Loki said softly as he placed a hand over it and it glowed green The healing process felt so warm and comforting

"Oh shit! Where's Bruce?!" You gasped, suddenly remembering he had been fighting Fenrir

"Oh, so you didn't forget me then!" Bruce's voice came from behind you

You turned to see he was back as Bruce and not Hulk. You jumped at him and gave him a hug and kissed him hard on his cheek. "I wasn't worried. I knew that dog had nothing on you" You assured him

"I'm glad you're okay too" He smiled to you

There was a loud rumble from below, down on Asgard. Everyone gathered around with you to watch the destruction that was happening before you.

Surtur was really wrecking the place and it was hard for you to watch as your second home was being destroyed with every second that passed

"The damage is not too bad. As long as the foundations are strong, we can rebuild this place. It will become a haven for all people and aliens of the universe..." Korg tried to comfort you

But literally just as he said it, Asgard exploded. It literally exploded right in front of your eyes and in the next moment, there was nothing left of Asgard, Surtur or Hela.

"What have we done?" Thor's pained whisper came from next to you

"We did what needed to be done," You reassured him as you put an arm around him in a hug and he hugged you back. "You did what a true king would do, protect his people"

You turned away from where Asgard had once been and saw that the crowd of people were all looking at where your group of misfits were standing.

"Urm, Thor!" you whispered to him, jabbing him lightly in the side with your elbow to get his attention

He turned around to look over his people and you saw his composure change. He took in a deep breath and held his head high, like the king he now was.

"Where to, my king?" Heimdall asked from Thor's other side

"I'm not too sure. Korg, any suggestions?" Thor smiled as he turned to the friendly rock man

"I know just the place," You grinned to Thor. "There's a nice little spot in Norway on Midgard"

"Earth it is then" He grinned back to you before he walked off to the cockpit of the ship and your group disbanded but you and Loki stayed back

"I wonder if there's a shower on here anywhere. I'm filthy" You said to Loki as you took his hand in yours

"I'm sure we could find one," He smiled and lead you out of the big room where everyone was gathered

"Oh and food. Food sounds really good right now," You added as you walked down a hallway

You walked in silence with your Loki as you searched the ship. It was a nice and calm silence. You could do with some quiet after the day? days? You had all had.

You managed to find a nice room with a double bed and its own little kitchen and an en suite.

"You go and have a shower and I'll see if there's any food around here," Loki told you, so you went into the bathroom and stripped off your armour and put it in the hand basin before turning the shower on.

You didn't even wait to see if the water would heat up before stepping in, you just wanted to get clean.

Once you were done in the shower, you used your magic to clean your armour off before putting it back on and when you came out of the bathroom, Loki had managed to find some food.

"I have no idea what this is, but it tasted good," Loki said as he handed you a bowl of something that resembled cereal.

You took it from him and tried a spoonful. It was crunchy and sweet. It would do.

Why don't you grab a shower and then we can climb in that bed and finally get some rest? You suggested while you were eating your cereal stuff. God it was so good to have magic

Good idea. And Loki disappeared into the bathroom to have a shower.

By the time he had finished, you had already made yourself comfortable in the soft double bed and Loki climbed in behind you. It barely took you two minutes to fall asleep when he did
