There was a knock at your door shortly after Anna had left so you walked over and answerd it to find it was Loki
"Oh Loki, hi" You smiled, acutely aware of the scar on your chest showing
"Lady Y/N, you look ravishing in my colours" He grinned
"Your colours? Oh!" You looked down at the dress and realised what he was talking about and grinned. That cheeky maid picked it on purpose
"What's this?" Loki asked and pointed to the scar on your chest.
Your smile left your face and you looked to the floor feeling a bit self-conscious, remembering the lashings
"They're from when I was kidnapped" You muttered quietly tot he floor
"I'm so sorry, I didn't realise they were so bad" Loki tensed.
"Yeh, they're pretty bad, but they're my war wounds" you said as you turned around and moved your hair out the way to show your back.
You felt his cool fingers trace the scars on your back as he sighed sadly and it sent a shiver down your spine. A good shiver.
*Loki POV*
Loki didn't expect to feel so hurt and sad at seeing the scars that Hydra had left on your skin. He was also angry that he let it happen. He felt that if he had been with you and the Avengers on that mission then none of it would have happened. He wanted to hold you and never let you go, keep you away from all danger. He wouldn't let you get hurt like that again, he swore on it
*Your POV*
He turned you around and pulled you into a hug which felt amazing
"I won't let anything like that happen to you again" He whispered into your hair and you knew he meant it. You stayed hugging for a while longer until he pulled away and you saw a hint of sadness on his face like he didn't want to stop hugging you. "We must get going to the feast but first I bought you this" and he handed you a small long box.
"What is it?" You asked
"Open it and find out" He chuckled
When you opened it you saw it was the bracelet you had spotted at the market earlier and you gasped. "You got me the bracelet?!"
"Yes, I saw you admiring it and thought you should have a souvenir to take home" He explained with a slight blush rising to his cheeks
"Thank you, it's so sweet. Help me put it on?" You asked with a huge smile on your face as you took it out of the box and handed it to him to put on you.
It was beautiful. It didn't match your dress but you didn't care. You were going to always wear it.
"Shall we get going?" Loki suggested after he had clasped the bracelet and offered you his arm which you took and you walked to the throne room where the feast would be held.
It had been transformed into a grand dining room with huge tables and what looked to be a hundred chairs. The top table would be where you would be sitting and Loki lead you over to it and seated you between him and where Frigga would be sitting. You were slightly surprised at being sat next to one of the rulers of the kingdom and hoped you didn't make a fool out of yourself.
Dozens of people were already there socialising but when Odin and Frigga arrived everyone stood up as a sign of respect until they had been seated and then you all took your seats again.
"So, Y/N, Thor tells me your magic is Asgardian and when you used it earlier I sensed it too" Frigga said while all the food was being bought out by the servants. "Do you know who your parents are?"
"I never met them that I know of. I've been in foster homes my whole childhood" You answered her evenly.
"Hm, very odd. Unfortunately I'm not sure who they would have been but it must be someone from a family of strong magic because yours is very strong" She said with a sympathetic look on her face
"Its okay, I found my family with the Avengers. I couldn't be happier" You smiled to her and then looked at all of the food in front of you. You had no idea what half of it was
"Urm, Loki, what's that?" You asked him as you pointed to something that looked like something breaded but you weren't sure
"That's breaded lamb chops" He chuckled and you continued to ask him what the dishes were that you weren't sure of. Everything looked so amazing so you tried as much of it as you could until you were full and couldn't eat anything else
"I would be so fat if I lived here" You laughed to Loki when you were finished, leaning back in your chair
"That's why we train hard" he laughed in response
"Yeh I'm definitely going to be training tomorrow after all of this" You smiled back to him
Once everyone had finished eating the food that was left was taken away and soon after, the tables pushed to the sides of the room
"What's going on?" You asked Loki as you stood up to let the table be moved
"Now there will be song and dance well into the night" He explained
"Well I have no idea how to dance back home let alone Asgardian dancing" You admitted
"I can teach you if you want?" He offered looking hopeful. It made you smile that he wanted to teach you how to dance
"Sure, what could go wrong?" You agreed and he lead you over to the edge of where everyone was dancing
"Alright, put this hand here" He said as he took your left hand and put it around his side. "And this one goes here" And he took your right hand in his and held it up. He showed you the steps to the dance and you caught on quickly. It wasn't as hard as you thought it was going to be and the two of you were soon waltzing around the room like you'd been doing it your whole life
The song came to an end and Loki bowed to you and you curtsied to him.
"That was very good" Loki smiled to you when you both stood back up
"Lady Y/N, may I have the next dance?" Thor asked from behind you
