Chapter 36 - Recovery to Christmas

The week it took you to recover was slow, but it was far from boring. After a day being back home you were able to get around the tower relatively easily but Loki and/or Bucky were always by your side just in case. It turned out that Loki and Bucky had become friends of sorts which made you happy. You were happy Loki had another friend at the tower.

Loki had trained with you in combat, helping you use your ears and other senses to help you fight better as you couldn't see. You were definitely a better physical fighter now because of it. He had also carried on teaching you the theory on teleportation, seeing as though you couldn't use your magic at the time.

It had also caught everyone's attention the affection between you and Loki. You didn't want to make a big thing out of it but when Nat came to you one evening and asked about it, you told her how it happened.

By the end of the week you were so ready to be able to see again and use your magic and you were feeling your magic come back to you every day and the morning you woke up and could see again, you felt your magic bursting with life within you. You did everything that day with magic: getting dressed, pouring your cereal and milk, conjuring items you could have easily gotten by taking five steps.

Loki began your real teleport training that day because you begged him to and you managed to teleport from one side of the room to the other by the end of the day which Loki was really impressed with.

Then Tony bought your attention to the date. It was the 20th of December! Christmas was 5 days away! And you totally weren't ready for it!

You went up to your room and pulled out your laptop and started looking for gifts for the team and you put them all in your basket and clicked on next day delivery. When it came to paying you very naughtily conjured one of Tonys many credit cards from his wallet, used it to pay for the things (they didn't really come to all that much) and sent it back to Tonys wallet.

By the time you had finished your night time robbery it was past midnight so you put your laptop away and got yourself in bed.

The next morning you were up bright and early and made your way down to the kitchen. As usual, the only other person that was up was Loki.

"Good morning, my love" Loki greeted you from where he was sat in the living room

"Good morning. You want to help me decorate for Christmas after breakfast?" You asked as you made your toast

"What's Christmas?" He asked, putting his book aside

"Well..." you started and teleported yourself with your toast to sit next to Loki which he grinned at. "Its like Yule. Do you celebrate Yule on Asgard?"

"Yes, Yule is celebrated on Asgard" He confirmed as you ate your toast

"Well it's like Midgards version of Yule," You explained. "We decorate a Christmas tree and put up decorations and give each other presents on Christmas Day and we also have a big Christmas dinner"

"Ah yes, i would like to help decorate for this Christmas of yours" He smiled

"You know how much I hated not being able to see you for a week?" You smiled and leant in for a kiss which he was more than happy with

"Hmmm, i have an idea" He chuckled when the kiss ended

"Well, now to see if Tony has Christmas decorations around here" You grinned. "Hey JARVIS, does Tony have Christmas decorations in the tower?"

"Yess Miss Y/N, they're on the 51st floor in storage room three" JARVIS answered you

"Thanks J" You thanked the AI. "Shall we go have a nose around?" You asked Loki

"Yes, I do enjoy 'nosing around' as you put it" he grinned and you both got in the elevator and went to the 51st floor and found storage room 3

You took a look around for all of the decorations and carried down what you could in one trip and conjured the rest of them into the lounge.

By then the rest of the team had started to get up for the day and they got in the Christmas spirit and helped decorate. It was a common and simple family thing to do but you'd never had a proper Christmas with family before so you took it all in.

Your Christmas presents for the team arrived in the middle of your decorating spree but you just used your magic to send them up to your room and went back to decorating.

"Alrighty guys! The place looks great but now we have to talk about Christmas day! And Christmas dinner!" You said when all of the decorations were up and you had all crashed in the lounge.

"Well, I think we should divide and conquer. Each of us will be in charge of part of the dinner?" Bruce suggested

"Good plan! So how about Tony and Pepper do starters, Bruce and Nat on veg, Clint and Thor on trimmings, Steve and Bucky on meat and Loki and I on dessert?" You suggested and the team all agreed to

The next 3 days went by in a flash. While the Christmas spirit was high in the tower, you were still training and now you could teleport to anywhere in the tower and probably beyond but you were too busy to test it.

On Christmas eve you and Loki had fun in the kitchen making desserts while Bruce and Nat prepped the veg to be cooked the next day. The kitchen was a mess by the time the four of you had finished in there so you were glad for having magic that could clean it all up, especially as a food fight has broke out at some point.

On Christmas morning you were up at the crack of dawn. You couldn't wait any longer to spend your first Christmas Day with a family that you loved and loved you back.
