Chapter 63 - To dust or not to dust

"Did we just lose?" Star-Lord asked when everyone had gathered around where you and Tony were sat together on the ground

"Why would you do that?!" Tony demanded of Stephen, ignoring Star-Lord's question

"We're in the endgame now," Was all Stephen had to say in reply to Tony

"Hey, are you okay?" You asked Tony, who seemed to be doing better now you had healed the gaping wound that had been in his side

"Yeah, thank you, Princess. Don't know what I'd do without you," He smiled to you.

"He's going to do it, isn't he? Thanos. He's going to get the last time stone and wipe out half of the universe," You said solemnly to no one in particular

"It looks that way..." Tony agreed, eyeing Stephen. "Why don't you have anything else to say?" He asked him

"If I tell you what happens before it comes to pass, it will not come to pass..." Was all Stephen had to say on the matter before turning away from you both slightly

Stephen knew something, but couldn't tell you what it was and it was unnerving. You understood why he couldn't say anything about it, but not knowing was eating at you.

"Listen, Tony, Peter, Stephen, even you guys" You nodded to the Guardians. "I need to ask you to do something for me."

"What is it, Y/N?" Peter asked intently

"Look, if Thanos goes through with this plan, which I have an awfully bad feeling he will, we don't know who's going to be wiped out. He says it'll be indiscriminate so it could be any one of us. If I get poofed out of existence, someone needs to tell Loki to carry on for me if he is still around. He won't feel like he has anything to live on for. Especially if Thor gets poofed away too and I can't let that happen, even if I'm not here, so please, tell him that I love him and I want him to carry on living," you pleaded with the group. When you looked around many of your friends had tears in their eyes after listening to what you had said.

"I'll tell him if I make it," Tony choked up, putting his hand on your shoulder

"So will I," Peter also agreed and one by one your friends all agreed to do what you asked of them if any of them survived and you don't

"Does anyone else have any requests?" You asked, trying not to choke up

"Tell my Aunt May that I love her, please?" Peter sniffled

"Sure thing, kid," you and Tony both agreed along with nod's from the others

"Tell Pep that I love her so much and I wish we could have started a family together," Tony sniffled and you all nodded in agreement to pass it along and one by one each of the group asked for things to be passed on to their loved ones, friends and family

After a few sobering moments Mantis spoke up. "Something's happening..."

You all turned to her and saw her slowly but fast turn into dust, which blew away in the wind

Then Drax started to turn to dust, "Quill?" he looked so worried in his last moments

Quill stumbled but you caught him, "Hey, hey Quill. You're okay!" You cried

"Oh, fu-" He started to say but he was gone before he finished

"Tony, there was no other way..." Stephen said just before he disappeared into dust too

"Mr. Stark? Y/N? I don't feel so good..." Peter stumbled and you and Tony rushed to his side

"No, Peter, no..." You sobbed

"I dont wanna go...I dont want to..." But he turned to dust right before your eyes and Tony looked like he had been punched in the stomach

Then you felt something strange inside you too. You turned to Tony and pulled him into a hug, "I love you, dad. Please tell Loki I love him and to live on for me?" You quickly managed to say before you saw yourself turn to dust from your fingertips and then there was nothing...

*Loki POV*

Loki had been fighting with the Avengers against Thanos, trying to keep him away from Vision. It was a well fought battle against his army but when Thanos got there, all hope seemed lost.

"Everyone, on my position" The Captain's voice came over the comm Loki had agreed to use for the battle. "We have incoming"

Loki made his way over to the Captain along with the Widow, Falcon, King T'Challa and Okoye, the leader of the Dora Milaje

"What the hell?" the Widow gasped when she saw the blue-black cloud appear in front of them.

"It's Thanos," Loki warned the small group and put himself in a fighting stance

"Eyes up, stay sharp," the Captain instructed. God's, Loki thought he was annoying

When Thanos stepped through the portal, everyone jumped into action. Bruce jumped at him in his Hulk armour and Thanos used the Space Stone to make Bruce pass right through him.

Loki duplicated himself using illusions and made them all attack Thanos at once, but Thanos used the Reality stone to wipe out the illusions to find the real Loki. When he did, He knocked Loki away like swatting a fly. Loki flew through the air and knocked his head on a stone he landed against, blurring his vision as Thanos used the time stone to grow thick roots around him to prevent him from moving.

Loki groaned and coughed when he gasped for breath and tried to blink his vision back to normal when he realised he couldn't see properly. It took him a few minutes before he could see properly and when he looked around, it seemed that the fight had moved away from him.

He struggled against the vines for a while but then there was a huge blast of force that seemed to shake the forest he was in and the vines seemed to melt away.

He stood up and rushed off to see where the others are, wondering if The Avengers had won or if the worst had come to pass

"Brother! What happened?!" Loki called out to Thor when he spotted him and the Captain

"Where'd he go?" the Captain asked Thor as they were both looking around

"Thanos? Did he do it?" Loki asked solemnly

"I think so? But then he disappeared..." Thor said slowly

"Steve?" The Winter Soldiers voice came from behind the Captain and the three of them turned to look at him as he turned to dust, disappearing like he was never there

"No...No!" Loki gasped and rushed over to Thor and grabbed his chest plate. "Please tell me it didn't happen! Oh God's, what about Y/N?!"

"I don't know, brother..." Thor seemed utterly defeated

"Tell her I love her if I go?" Loki begged of Thor to which he nodded his understanding

The next few minutes were tense between the three of them as they waited to see if any of them would disappear, but they didn't and when they were sure of it, they rushed off together to look for any other survivors
