Mystical Magic (Loki x Reader)

Chapter 33 - Too far

You jumped right into it, using your shields to protect the civilians as they sought cover.

Once the civilians were all safely out of the way you turned to the real fight. There were bodies covering the grounds of both friendlies and enemies and there was so much blood.

You conjured the sword Sif had given you earlier and clicked it to extend the blade and started fighting against the enemy. They were good, but you were better. You took down one after the other, mixing your combat and magic for maximum efficiency and never backing down. These were your people too and you wouldn't let any more come to harm if you could help it.

The battle seemed to last for hours but eventually all of the enemies were either dead or had retreated.

You looked around frantically for Loki, praying to God, all the gods, Jesus, Buddha, Vishnu,  anyone who would listen, that he was alive.

Eventually you spotted him looking around frantically too and when he spotted you a wave of relief washed over the both of you and you ran to each other and embraced in a hug.

"Oh god i was so worried about you!" You said nearly crying

"You were?" He asked, surprised that anyone was ever worried about him

"Of course! I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to you" You admitted, a tear falling down your cheek as  you locked eyes.

The next thing that happened took you by surprise. He leant down and kissed you. On the lips. And oh my god it was amazing. Little fireworks were going off in your head and the whole world around you seemed to stand still

When he pulled away his face was a mix of shock, worry and relief

"That..." he started to say

"Was amazing" you finished in a whisper and the both of you broke out into huge smiles

"Brother!" Thors booming voice came from behind you and you both jumped and turned around like you'd been caught doing something dirty. When he saw the two of you, the biggest smile spread across his face. "I knew it!"

"Oh shut up" You grinned and held Lokis hand

"Anyway, your help is needed in the infirmary with healing, brother. You should come too, Little One" Thor informed you and you both followed him to the infirmary.

You were both put to work by the nurses as soon as you stepped in, healing the wounds of guards and civilians alike who had been injured in the battle. Luckily you hadn't used a great deal of magic during the fight.

"Move! Move! Make room!" Came Odin's booming voice from the entrance to the infirmary. He came running in with Frigga in his arms and she was covered in blood. The colour drained from your face at the sight.

You ran over to the bed that he lay her down on and heard Odin tell Thor, who cam running in after him, that one of the enemy had snuck through and attacked Frigga. And she was losing blood fast. You weren't right next to her, you were behind Odin but you could see the blood spreading faster

You felt close to your limit where your magic was concerned but Loki was already needing to use the bed to hold himself up. He wouldn't be able to help Frigga

"Apologies, Allfather, but move!" You yelled to Odin and physically pushed him out of your way

"How dare you!" He began to yell at you

You whirled around and glared at him. "Do you want me to save your wife or not?!" You yelled over him. He just looked at you in shock. How you weren't already in the dungeons was beyond you.

You turned back to your patient and started to heal her.

"Y/N, you need to stop. You're going to burn out" Loki warned you but you ignored him and kept healing Frigga. You weren't going to let her die, not on your watch.

Your eyelids started getting heavy and the room started to spin slowly but you pushed through it. You felt your eyes start to burn but you were nearly finished healing her. When you were done, you stumbled back a step and everything seemed dark and the voices around you were muffled. The next thing you knew you were on the floor. You were just going to close your eyes for a minute and rest...

When you came to, however long after you had passed out, you felt groggy. You rubbed your eyes and opened them, but you couldn't see. Was it night time? Even if it was, it shouldn't be pitch black.

You blinked a few times but there was nothing. Just blackness and you started to panic. You didn't know where you were or what was going on.

"Loki? Loki?!" You shouted in a panic as you felt around yourself and you felt you were in a bed. You tried to stand up but you fell over, not being able to see was hard

"Y/N? Y/N! Are you alright?!" Lokis voice was getting closer to you until he was by your side helping you up

"Loki, what's going on?!" You cried. You were so scared because you didn't understand what was happening.

"Shh it's okay, calm down, my dear. You used too much magic earlier and nearly completely burnt yourself out. You nearly killed yourself healing Mother. Because of that your sight has temporarily gone until your body regains enough magic back" he explained and he pulled you into a hug and was stroking your hair as you were crying

"S-so it's not permanent?" You asked, still terrified at not being able to see

"No, it'll be a few days until your sight comes back, but it will come back. Something interesting happened while you were healing Mother" He said, still holding you close to him

"What? What happened?" You asked as you 'looked' up to him

"Your eyes started glowing blue at the end" He explained softly

"Oh? That's cool. It felt like my eyes were burning. I guess that's when it happened" you managed to get out without sobbing.

"It was quite beautiful to see" he mused and sat you down on the bed next to him

"So, is Frigga okay? Did she make it?" You asked, hoping you had got to her in time

"Yes, she is in perfect health thanks to you" He said as he planted a kiss on your head

"Oh, that's good. I'm glad she's okay" You smiled, hopefully in Loki's direction. "So, i guess we are going to be joined at the hip for a few days now that i can't see"

"Yes it would appear that way, but i'm very much not against it" he chuckled

"Me either" You grinned. "What time is it? I'm starving!" You said as your stomach let out a low growl

"Well, we did miss dinner and it's now tea time. It'll escort you to the hall. Mother wants to see you too, to say thank you" He said as he stood up and helped you up too. You took his arm and he slowly guided you out the infirmary
