Chapter 31 - Deeper feelings

"Oh Thor! Of course you can" You smiled to him and you took his outstretched hand and he lead you over to the middle of the room

When the music started you both started up the dance

"You know, my brother likes you" Thor smirked as you were waltzing through the room

"Well i like him too" You smiled back to him

"No, i mean he likes you" His grin got even bigger

"What? Don't be daft. We're friends" You laughed as he spun you around

"Then why, Little One, is he throwing me a death glare right now while we dance?" He chuckled nodding over towards where Loki was

You looked over there yourself when you were facing that way in the dance but Loki looked away quickly when he saw you look over

"He's just protective of me is all" You said nonchalantly. "He feels bad about when I was kidnapped and saw the scars earlier"

"I think it's a bit more than that, Little One" He mused

"If you say so" You shook your head, agreeing to disagree. But was it true? Did Loki feel that way about you? Surely not. He was a literal God after all and you were just a lost Asgardian who lived on Midgard. Why would he be interested in you? You did entertain the thought of it for a few seconds and you realised that you did feel that way about him which made you blush. Hard.

*Loki POV*

Seeing you dance with Thor gave Loki an uneasy feeling and he didn't like it. He didn't know what it meant. That was a lie, deep down he knew that he liked you. A lot. More than he's ever liked anyone before. But he didn't want to open himself up to that just to be hurt when you found out about his Frost Giant heritage. He knew the moment you found out you wouldn't be able to look at him without disgust on your face and he wasn't ready for that

*Your POV*

The song ended and you curtsied to Thor and he bowed to you and gave you a wink and a grin before he left to go over to his friends

You walked over to where Loki was and you saw a group of girls near him, watching him and giggling. You pulled a face at that and used your magic to read their minds. They were talking about asking Loki to dance with them. A couple of them even had thoughts of hoping if they danced with him he might ask them to his room, which really pissed you off.

"Hey, you okay?" Loki asked when he saw you pulling a disgusted face

"Yeh, just some people having some unsavoury thoughts. You have a little fan group over there" You scoffed and nodded to where the girls were standing huddled

"Lady Y/N, are you reading people's minds?" He teased you because he knew you did like to invade people's privacy and he turned to the giggling girls and waved which made them all jittery, annoying you even more

"Their thoughts are just loud" It wasn't a total lie, their thoughts were loud

Loki raised an eyebrow at you, questioningly. "Well, we can go somewhere else if you like?" He offered

"To be honest I'm pretty tired. I wouldn't mind going to bed" You admitted. Today had been a long day

"Well I will walk you to your room" He said as he offered his arm to you which you took and he lead you out the hall.

You saw the mortified look on the girls faces as he lead you out and you couldn't help but smirk at them as you walked by for good measure. 

You stopped at the door to your room and turned to say good night to Loki

"Thanks for teaching me how to dance tonight" You thanked him with a smile

"You're most welcome, I had a wonderful evening. Good night, Lady Y/N" and he took your hand, bent over it and kissed your knuckles like a real gentleman, making you blush

"Good night, Loki" You smiled and went to turn yourself in for the night

The following morning you were woken by a knock at your door. You sat up and rubbed your eyes to wipe away the sleep.

"Yeah?!" You shouted through as you got up out of bed, looking around the unfamiliar room and getting your bearings.

The door opened and in walked Thor.

"Lady Y/N, breakfast will be soon and then we will be heading out for training if you'd still like to join us" He informed you

"Okay, I'll be there soon" you grumbled, not entirely happy about being woken up. Thor nodded to you and left you to get ready for the morning.

You found some comfortable looking cotton trousers and a fern green tunic which you quickly put on after brushing your teeth and pulling your hair into a high ponytail.

You left your room and then realised you weren't sure where breakfast would be held so you went and knocked on Lokis door.

"You may enter" Lokis voice came from the other side of the door and you went in. So formal

"Thank you, your highness" You said sarcastically with a bow

"Good morning, my dear" He greeted you. My dear? That was a new one. You liked it. It put a smile on your face

"You ready for breakfast? I have no idea where it's held" You said a bit embarrassed

"Yes, let's go" He smiled and you both left and headed to breakfast.

You went into a smaller hall than the throne room that was used the night before for the feast. Breakfast was a much less formal occasion and there were about two dozen other people already there eating and chatting.

You heard Thor and his friends before you saw them. They had occupied a table off to the left by a balcony so you made your way over to them, much to Lokis displeasure

"Loki! Lady Y/N, lovely to see you this morning. Will you be joining us for training after breakfast?" Hogun asked you as you sat down between Thor and Loki

"Good morning guys. Yeh I'll be joining you although i have a feeling in going get my ass handed to me" You admitted

"You'll be fine" Loki assured you as he plated himself some sort of pastry and some fruit
