Chapter 40 - Dead inside

"Little One..." Thors said softly as he gave you a gave look

"No. Don't say..." You whispered, knowing the only reason Thor would be alone and looking like that was your worst nightmare coming to life. "Don't say it!" You shrieked when you saw him about to speak again. It was like if he didn't say it, it wouldn't be true

"Loki...he...hes gone" Thor sobbed

"No. You have to be wrong. He can't be gone! Tell me you're lying" You were borderline hysterical at this point, screaming to him

"I wouldn't lie to you about this" He said solemnly and your world, your being inside felt like it died

You didn't hear or see anything going on around you as you dropped to your knees feeling an overwhelming pain in your chest and you screamed at the top of your lungs, releasing a huge pulse of magic from your body like it would take some of the pain away. But it didn't. All it did was shatter all the glass from the five floors below you.

You couldn't seem to comprehend what was going on around you as you stayed on the ground, screaming and crying as Thor rushed to your side and hugged you hard. The team all came up to the roof to see what was going on when they heard all the glass shatter.

It was like you had lost your sense of sound because everything was muffled as you toppled over into Thors arms as he picked you up from the ground and held you bridal style as you carried on sobbing your heart out while he took you inside. The team all following behind.

How could this be happening? How could he leave you? You felt so alone and isolated despite having multiple people around you.

You felt dead inside. Like Loki dying killed you as well. And it hurt. It hurt so much for the first half an hour when you couldn't stop screaming and crying but then you felt...nothing. First JARVIS and now Loki.

You seem to realise you were in the lounge on your sofa and there were people moving around you but they were all blurs. Someone put a blanket around you and took off your boots.

They were all talking. No, shouting. Arguing? But you couldn't hear anything other than muffled sounds. Your world was moving in slow motion you realised. Was it real or was it slowed down in your head?

You were passed a glass of water but didnt know what to do with it so you put it on the coffee table. You were also passed your teddy bear. You wondered how they knew about Flossy. No one knew you sometimes slept with a teddy bear other than Loki. Maybe he told Thor at some point?

Oh, someone was rubbing your back. That was nice, you guessed. At least they cared and were worried about you.

Then all at once the world seemed to snap back to normal again and you could hear and see people properly again.

There was arguing about the Ultron issue and also about what to do with you. Apparently It had been 3 hours since Thor told you about Loki. Wow, had it really been that long?

"Guys?" You called out and it seemed to shut everyone up and they all looked at you. "I'm gonna go to bed" you said slowly

"Are you sure? Are you okay?" Tony asked by your side

"Just...find Ultron. I want to at least kill one bastard who took someone I love" You said flatly before teleporting to your room, putting your pyjamas on and getting into bed, locking your door with your magic before falling to sleep.

The next few days no one bothered you. They didn't need to for you to know what was going on. Everyone's thoughts were so loud lately.

No one knew what do say to you about Loki and they didn't want to bother you until they had something concrete on Ultron

You found out the two enhanced twins the team met in Sokovia were now working with Ultron. And the team were going to Africa to try to intercept the twins and Ultron but they didn't think you were ready to get back out there. It was dumb, you knew they didnt stand a chance without you. Not tooting your own horn but you knew about the girls mind magic and it would ruin it for them.

You also overheard a conversation Clint was having with his wife. That was new information. You looked into his mind further and learnt that he had two kins and another on the way and the only ones who knew about them all were Fury and Nat. You were glad Clint had a family. You just hoped he would never have to lose any of them. It also explained where he would always disappear to. At least all of that time he wasn't in the vents.

Two days later the team had gone into hiding because they failed in Africa going after the twins and Ultron. You had started to feel a bit more by then and you felt bad for them. You had ventured out of your room and saw Maria Hill and she showed you what had happened. The Wanda girl was interesting. You were looking forward to meeting her as a friend or foe.

Three or four days after that, you weren't sure which, the team were on their way back. You learnt that a lot had gone on. Ultron had put the gem from the sceptre into a body that he was making with Dr Cho's cradle and uploading himself into the body but that was interrupted by the twins realising Ultron was a homicidal maniac. They managed to get the cradle away from Ultron and were bringing it back to degenerate the gem body in the cradle. Also JARVIS was back. That's what brought you back more to the real world and he told you about bringing the half made body back.

You teleported down to the labs to see what was going on. You had a feeling something big was going to go down soon and you needed to be up to speed on what was going on.
