Chapter 45 - Dr Stephen Strange

From the top of the staircase there was a man in a cloak levitating towards you. Two could play at that game. You used your magic to hover in the air where you were standing next to Thor and tilted your head in confusion at the magic man.

"God of Thunder and The Sorceress" The man said. He was a handsome fellow with a goatee and he was just going grey at the sides of his hair. It looked good on him, you could admit to yourself. Maybe it'd piss Loki off if you told him.

You searched the edge of his mind, not wanting to pry too much. You still thought it was rude to do so.

"Dr. Stephen Strange. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. And you're a real doctor too. Impressive" You greeted the man and you shook hands and both floated to the floor. Thor looked between the two of you in confusion.

"Miss Y/L/N, your reputation precedes you. Though I ask you not look into my mind" Stephen said with a raised eyebrow

"Don't worry, I don't make a habit of it. Only to find out if you're an ally or enemy" You informed him which got you a respectful nod.

"So there are wizards on Earth now?" Thor asked

"The preferred term is 'Master of the Mystic Arts'." Stephen replied to Thor. "I have some questions for the two of you"

In the blink of an eye all 3 of you were sitting in armchairs in another room and you had a cup of tea in your hand. You shrugged your shoulders and took a sip. Oo, it was jasmine green tea

"I don't drink tea" Thor informed Stephen when he noticed his own cup of tea in his hand and it was instantly changed to a stein of Asgardian mead which made you grin.

Thor took three big gulps and it was gone but then it refilled itself. Thor looked impressed

"So I keep a watch list of individuals and beings from other realms that may be a threat to this world. Your adopted brother Loki is one of these beings" Stephen informed Thor

"More like he's in danger. He's lucky I haven't drove my sword through him yet" You snorted and took another sip of tea. "I still might" you added under your breath

"Be that as it may, why have you bought him here?" Stephen asked

"We're looking for Odin, my father" Thor informed Stephen and took another gulp of mead

"So. If I were to tell you where Odin was, all parties concerned would promptly return to Asgard?" Stephen asked hopefully

"Yeh, I might even throw him in the dungeon myself" You said scornfully

"Well then, I can help you" Stephen clapped his hands together and you were now standing up in a library and he was looking through an ancient looking book muttering to himself about changing spells for Asgardians or not.

"If you know where my father is, why didn't you call me?" Thor stupidly asked

"One, you don't have a phone and two, i doubt it'd reach off Midgard" You rolled your eyes at him which got you a smirk from Stephen

"Anyway, where is he then?" Thor asked looking baffled

"He's in Norway. I can send you there" Stephen said and then you were in another library and he was looking through another book and Thor looked like he might throw up

"Can you stop doing that?" Thor asked

"I just need one of your hairs" Stephen said to Thor

"My hair is not to be meddled-" Thor began to say but you plucked one from his head instead and handed it to Stephen

"Thank you" Stephen said to you and then you were back at the bottom of the staircase and Stephen was casting a spell and opened another portal that revealed a luscious green field by a cliff side. "Odin is waiting for you. Don't forget your umbrella"

"Oh, yes" Thor said as he remembered it was Mjolnir and held out his hand to summon it to him. There were crashes coming from through the sanctum as Mjolnir apparently didn't care if it made a mess

"You're wrecking the man's home," you sighed and put your face in your hands in embarrassment

"Oh and I'll be needing my brother too," Thor added. You'd completely forgot that Loki was...wherever he was

"Oh yes" Stephen seemed to have forgotten too and opened up another portal above and to the left of you.

You heard Loki's yells getting closer and he fell from the portal and onto the floor, face first, which made you smirk. 

"I have been falling...for thirty minutes!" Loki yelled out

"Shut up, it should have been an hour" you scoffed as you readied yourself to walk through the portal to Norway.

"I've got it from here. Thank you for your help" Thor said to Stephen and they shook hands.

"It was a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Before we go, what year is it here?" You shook his hand too. You knew time worked differently between the realms so you weren't sure how much time had passed since the battle in Sokovia

"You too, Sorcerers. It's 2017" Stephen said and you looked shocked. Two years had passed in the two months you had been away from Midgard. Loki was now sitting on the floor looking baffled at you all. "Safe travels" he said and pulled the portal over the three of you and you were all now in Norway in the field.

Loki stood up and brushed himself off mumbling about wizards and magic

You looked around for Odin, seeing as though he was meant to be here. You saw him sitting on a rock by the cliff's edge looking out to the tranquillity of the ocean before him. 

"Allfather!" You called and ran up to him with the guys

"Ah, Y/N my dear. How wonderful of you to have come to find me with my sons. I was wrong about you, I'm sorry" he said so peacefully.

You were stunned at this change of heart. You really did feel like it was the end days at that moment. You took in the sight of Odin before you and saw he was looking really old now and like a normal Midgardian in beige trousers and a cream cardigan. Apart from the eye patch of course.

"Have you seen this place, Y/N? It's beautiful, isn't it?" Odin asked you

"It is, Allfather" You smiled and looked out to the sea as you heard Thor and Loki sit next to their father.

"My sons. I've been waiting for you" Odin said, sounding completely at peace.

"We have come to take you home, father" Thor informed him

"Home, yes. Your mother, she calls me. Do you hear it?" Odin asked. Yep, he was delusional. He's lost it, you thought. What had Loki done to the man?

"Loki, take your spell off him!" Thor accused Loki, thinking what you had and Loki threw his hands up in defence but Odin turned to Loki

"Took me quite a while to break free from your spell. Frigga would have been proud" he said to Loki which brought tears to all of your eyes. Then Odin turned to you. "She would have been so proud of you too". That was it for you, the tears spilled over and ran down your face. "I don't have much time". You saw Thor tense and the anger rise in him towards Loki. "Ragnarök is upon us and I have much to tell you"

"No, Y/N and I put an end to Ragnarök. We put an end to Surtur and took his crown" Thor informed his father

"No, my dear boy, Ragnarök has already begun" Odin said, repeating the words Surtur had said.
