Chapter 60 - Saving Stephen

"See the wizard down there? We need to save him," Tony pointed Stephen out to Peter. What's your plan? Go."

"Have you ever seen that really old film Aliens?" Peter asked

You and Tony looked at Peter then you turned to Tony. "I know he's a kid, but how old is he to think Aliens is really old?" You asked

"I'm 17," Peter said defensively and you just shook your head

"Yeh, we've seen Aliens. What you thinking?" You replied

"Blow a hole in the ship and send the alien out of it," Peter answered you simply

"Alright, we can do that. Someones gotta catch Stephen so he doesnt get sucked out too," You said

"Alright, I'll blow the hole, you make sure Squidward goes out and Peter catches the wizard," Tony instructed and you all got into position

"Painful aren't they? They were originally designed for microsurgery. And any one of them..." Squidward was saying when Tony landed behind Stephen. "Could end your friend's life."

"I gotta tell you, he's more of a college. And saving him is a professional courtesy" Tony said and then fired his repulsor at the side of the ship.

You put up a shield around Squidward but let the force of the open hole pull him towards the hole and straight out of it.

You saw Peter just as he lost his grip on Stephen who was then flying towards the hole. You quickly put up a shield around Stephen and pulled him against the force of the hole in the ship back to safety as Tony used some sort of nanites to cover up the hole in the ship

Once you were sure the hole was covered up, you let Stephen down carefully onto the floor and turned to Peter

"I thought you were meant to be sticky?!" You jested which made Peter look a bit embarrassed that he lost his grip on Stephen

"Hey, we haven't officially met" Peter said to the cloak, trying to draw attention away from your comment. The cape wasn't too impressed he nearly lost its master and completely ignored Peter and flew over to settle on Steohens shoulders

"We've gotta turn this ship around." Stephen said as he looked around the place

"Now he wants to run!" Tony exasperated

"No, I want to protect the stone." Stephen said nonchalantly

Tony and Stephen then started bickering and you just let them go as it and floated above the floor and crossed your legs looking impatient.

"And due to that fact, we're now in a flying doughnut billions of miles away from Earth with no backup..." Tony was saying

"I'm back-up!" Peter offered and you quickly shook your head at him, telling him not to go there

"You're a stowaway. Shush, the adults are talking," Tony chastised Peter

"And out of the two of you, who's been to space?" You interjected with a raised eyebrow. When neither of them continued you carried on. "I've been to space and I've seen Thanos and the destruction he is capable of with one stone and now he has two. Without the stones, not to toot my own horn, but i'd be able to take him, but with two stones? Not a chance"

Tony ran his hands through his hair and looked at the console on the ship. "This ship is correcting its course"

"Can you fly it? Take us home?" Stephen asked

" I'm thinking... I'm not so sure we should," Tony cautiously said

"Under no circumstance can we bring the Time Stone to Thanos. I don't think you quite understand what's at stake here." Stephen insisted

"I say we take the fight to him. Doctor. Do you concur?" Tony asked of Stephen

"Alright, Stark. We go to him. But you have to understand... if it comes to saving you or the kid or the Time Stone... I will not hesitate to let either of you die. I can't, because the fate of the universe depends on it." Stephen answered him

You couldn't believe what you were hearing! "Hello! Did you not just hear what I said about Thanos being too strong with 2 stones?! What if he has more by now?! What if he got to Vision?!" You demanded

"It's the best shot we've got, Princess," Tony pleaded with you. You looked at him long and hard and a million possibilities were running through your mind. What if he got Vision? What if this is the weakest Thanos will ever be and you take the chance? What if you don't take the change

"Fine, but I think you're barking mad" You groaned and stepped over to the control console for the ship as Tony walked over to Peter and tapped both of his shoulders with the side of his hand.

"You're officially an Avenger now, kid" Tony sighed

The look on Peter's face was the most precious thing you had seen in a long time. He looked so proud to be called an Avenger, it melted you heart

"Alright, well, we don't need to control the ship seeing as it knows where it's going but i'll stay up here and keep look out," You sighed, worried about what you were all getting yourselves into

You had no idea how much time had passed while you were flying through space but you guessed you had been going two or three hours by the time you noticed you were flying closer to a planet

"Guy's it looks like we're here..." You informed the others, eyes darting around seeing if you could spot anything or anyone on the planet. You were still a distance away but it wouldn't take long for this ship to reach the surface. "I don't think this ship had an auto-park setting on it. We're gonna have to land it ourselves. I can do it on my own or some of you can help me"

"Oh, oh, I'll help!" Peter offered, his enthusiasm was well welcomed

"Alright, put your left arm in that socket there and I'll put my right one in here. Tilt the handle down slowly" You instructed Peter.

The planet's sky was laden with debris and you couldn't manoeuvre the ship out of the way of all of it. The ship rocked and shook with every piece of debris that you hit.

"Brace for multiple impacts!" You warned the others and Tony and Peter engaged their helmets and Stephen put up a shield around you all. You threw one up around his just to be safe

The ship came crashing down onto the surface and you were all thrown around a bit and all ended up on the floor of the now totalled ship. Could you class a ship as being totalled? You wondered as you got yourself up off the floor and dusted yourself off before looking around at the wreck.

"Are we all alright?" Tony asked as Stephen gave him a hand and helped him up off the floor

"I'm good, Mr. Stark!" Peter confirmed

"Yep, still alive too!" You also confirmed before wandering off out of the now non-existent window of the ship and onto the alien planet, the others following you. Gods, you were really missing Loki right then as you looked around at the wasteland of a planet you had landed on.
