Days before the pilgrim tournament, Hybereus walked alone in a hallroom and stumbled across Balog of the Malkim race. The two shared a gaze and walked past each other until Balog stopped.
"I heard you tried to sway the minds of your matriarch Rora and the hiveling council." Balog said prompting Hybereus to halt, "I must say that was unwise. Though you might have had your reasons but that act would have done nothing but stigmatize your daughter if your words had gotten through."
"Has word traveled that fast already? Humph. That is funny." Hybereus replied.
"We both want what is best for our own but a little advice: your daughter is no longer a wee hiveling so you should stop treating her as such." Balog said, "Others her age and younger have fought wars and even survived the front lines... Something you can testify of.
The more you keep treating her like she is the only young hiveling among her people, the more you hinder her progress."
Before Balog could continue walking, Hybereus spoke.
"There is something unusual i noticed. Our lady Rora's face is almost devoid of emotions but there is always this look in her eyes whenever she is around you... It is as if she is afraid, and it makes me question a lot of things.
The Urokai race massacre, was it her decision or yours? The red mist game that will soon commence, the game where my daughter will have to join in slaughtering the young humans, was it our lady's decision or yours?
Is our matriarch taking orders from you? I am curious."
Silence filled the hallroom for some time until Balog chuckled.
"You are smart but at the same time not smart at all. After all, they say the bird that tries to know too much ends up in the hunter's trap." Balog said, "No. Your matriarch is not taking orders from me. We are allies, remember? I just happen to guide her in my master's plan which will succeed if she plays her part well.
And as for why she shows 'fear' in my presence, that i do not understand. The plans for the humans disaster is my master's plan; he just shared it with Rora and she agreed to it. After all, she has waited for centuries to get back at them for what they did to her and her people... Your ancestors."
"I see." Hybereus said.
Before Hybereus could walk away, Balog continued.
"By the way, what was it between you and that elderly urokai female?"
Hybereus's eyes glowed upon hearing Balog's question and he glanced at him.
"When i heard of lady Rora's decision against the urokais, i decided to pay her visit. The elderly one, such a strange female... Wasn't she?" Balog asked.
"Yes, she was." Hybereus replied.
"Do you mind telling me what happened?" Balog asked.
"Nothing. Nothing at all." Hybereus answered.
"Hmmm. Well, she said a few words when you left: your hope will turn to despair and you shall meet the cuddled flower and the bird of disaster. Only then shall you begin your true path of blood.
Some sort of prophecy and a strange one... Don't you think?" Balog asked as he glanced at Hybereus while his irises glowed.
"Yes. A very strange one." Hybereus answered, "If you excuse, i must be going."
While Hybereus turned to walk away, Balog smirked while his irises still glowed.
Currently as Lyx stared down at Xorian, Xorian raised his head and took notice of Lyx standing in front of him. Lyx hurled her fist down to crush but Xorian appeared behind her from a distance.
