10: Bryce

You got to the party and nervously looked around the crowd. You were starting to get nervous that maybe you were being catfished when a cute muscular boy came up behind you and handed you a drink.

You: "Bryce?"

Bryce: "The party animal himself."

He was cute and in great shape but the fact that he was already pretty wasted wasn't a good sign for how your night would be going. 

Surprisingly, you spent the next 2 hours dancing and having the absolute time of your life at the center of the party. You could tell Bryce was used to being the center of attention everywhere he went.

Exhausted, you excused yourself to grab a bottle of water just as your phone rang. Jaden spoke up the second you answered before you even got out a hello:
"I'm sorry about earlie- Wait, are you at a party?"

You froze, unsure if he was upset about it:
"Uh- I mean- I-"

Jaden clearly was unfazed and only really feeling worried that he bailed so abruptly on the facetime earlier:
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt I just wanted to say sorry about earlier."

You: "You're all good. I mean, it's not like you're my boyfriend or anything I can't really be mad you have a girl-"

Jaden clarified:
"Step-sister. That was my sister, Addi."

Your chest fell in relief as you processed the misunderstanding. You really hoped he was on the up and up because he was definitely the boy you'd clicked with the most so far.

You: "I won't be here much later if you wanna facetime again?"

Jaden: "I'm getting super tired but for sure tomorrow, okay?"

You: "Deal." 

You were still smiling as Bryce danced up to you laughing Your guard had settled down again as he questioned:
“Boyfriend?”

You: “Not really. I’m single. Painfully single.”

Bryce: “Not if that guy has anything to do with it. He seemed to be trying pretty hard.”

You flushed red as you rolled your eyes:
“If you knew how many times I’ve been rejected over the last 24 hours…”

Bryce: “Who would reject you? They must be nuts.”

You were too worn out to keep dancing but inspite of your plan to head home shortly, an hour later you found yourself curled up on a couch next to Bryce. You leaned against him in the corner of the party, sipping from your cup as he scrolled through your matches and gave commentary on each one:
“I mean Kio and Blake seem fun but Q? Who uses a single letter as their profile name on a dating app like this? And Ur hot? Missing a few letters there too. Clearly not bright.”

You were laughing as you tried to stop him from unmatching with Q. He asked, half joking:
“So how am I doing?”

You: “Depends are you gonna ask me to send God knows what kinda pics like this Griffin dude?”

Is Bryce still in the running or did he manage to friendzone himself?
