You sat on the edge of the bed, trying to resist the urge to run as Chase stumbled over his words:
“I never meant for you to walk in on that- Or even to be doing what you walked in on for that matter.”

You: “So you do like boys? What about Charli? I don’t understand at all.”

Chase: “Remember when we first hung out and I told you that I was going through a kinda confusing time and it was coming between Charli and me?”

Your tone was more sarcastic than you intended:
“Yeah, you not liking girls might be an issue for your girlfriend, Chase.”

Chase: “I do like girls. I liked Charli and then I met Jaden and it- just- it was different and I don’t really understand it either.”

You: “Liked Charli? As in past tense?”

Chase: “I think that's pretty much over. She yelled... a lot and it just sounded like there was nothing more to say."

You: "If you like boys and girls and Charli is who you want then I'm sure it's not too late."

Chase: "I don't think that's gonna happen."

You: "Well, as hard as it would be I can try- I mean if this thing with Jaden is where your heart is then maybe-"

You took a deep breath and inhaled all the strength you had to say:
"No. Not maybe. You are my best friend and I believe that you didn't know my Jaden was the same guy as your Jaden until the day in my house. If he is who you want... if boys are the direction you'd rather your love life go and Jaden is the one then I will try so  be okay with it."

Chase: "You don't understand... I don’t know if I like guys or it was just something about Jaden but I know I like girls. I didn’t realize how much I could like girls… a girl until last night.”

The point Chase was getting at completely soared over your head:
“You mean a guy. Weren’t you with Jaden last night?”

Chase: “Jaden just showed up this morning to talk. We hadn’t spoken since the night Charli found out about him and I… that is until I walked into your house the other night. He showed up to talk and he kissed me and I let things get out of hand- Wait- That’s not the point… can you listen to what I’m trying to say-”

Chase was interrupted by a man’s voice calling your name from downstairs:
“Is anyone home? Hello?”

You jumped up:
“Oh my God. It’s Josh! I forgot I told him to stop by tonight.”

Chase flopped back on the bed then buried his face in your pillow, groaning in frustration. He sat up to ask for just one more minute but it was too late... you had already disappeared down the stairs.

It’s not time for us to remember just yet so should the night with Josh go great or a mess?
