52: Sleepover

You were curled up on Josh's couch, watching a movie. Josh's arms were around you as you nuzzled into his chest. Buddy laid on the floor next to you, periodically lifting his head towards you anytime one of you laughed. Everything about it just felt like... home.

You thought about asking to stay the night but what if it was just too forward. Josh had already told you he wanted to take it slow. Or maybe just not saying anything and not asking for a ride home to see what Josh would do. You'd stayed super late once before and he didn't take you home until 7 am but that was after you'd stayed up half the night hooking up then both accidentally fell asleep. He didn't seem upset by the semi-sleepover then, but then again he had hurried to take you home as soon as you woke up.

Your planning and contemplating were interrupted by Josh:
"So I kinda need to tell you something."

For a moment, you thought maybe... just maybe he was going to tell you he changed his mind about wanting a relationship but he seemed too sad and nervous for that:
"My mom is sending my brother to go spend the holidays with my grandparents. Ever since my dad left she has been having to work overtime and she has a great opportunity for overtime and holiday pay. One catch... she's going to have to work all Christmas."

You weren't putting two and two together quickly enough so he added:
"Well... and... I agreed to go with him."

You still weren't sure why he would be so scared to tell you he'd be busy for one day so you tried really hard to reassure him:
"That's okay! I am sure I'll be busy on Christmas day with my family too. Hey... actually, we usually throw a big New Year's Eve party though. Maybe you might wanna stop by for that? I know it'd be lame to party with my family and my parent's friends but my mom would honestly be thrilled!"

Josh looked at you skeptical with a smile:
"Your Mom would?"

You laughed:
"Yeah, what can I say... you're a hit with the moms."

Josh: "I really really wish I could but... babe,   what I was trying to get at. They are taking us skiing as part of our gift so I will be gone for almost 2 weeks."

You: "Wait... when do you leave? Christmas isn't for another week."

Josh: "I leave tomorrow night."

You curled up tighter into his arms so he wouldn't see your face and how close to tears you were. You didn't want him getting scared and running from this before it could even be something real... to him but the thought of not seeing him that long was terrifying. You were only just beginning and you weren't sure that your new relationship could last through not finding opportunities to spend time together for a few weeks. 

He lifted your chin and kissed your face right next to your eye in an attempt to stop the tears he feel coming then whispered:
"Stay with me tonight..."

You answered by pulling him over and atop you. He wasted no time in covering your lips with his. He reached behind him with one hand to pull his shirt over his head and you took the opportunity to pull yours off as well. His hardened chest pressed against your stomach as he let his mouth explore the soft skin above your bra. The way he kissed and touched the most delicate parts of your body sent you into an ecstasy that you'd never known but would occupy most of the rest of your night.
