You laid in the bed, curled up and staring at the clock on the wall. Chase had been gone for an hour and all you wanted was to turn back the hands of that clock mocking you and do everything since you'd arrived all differently. You wanted to do a lot differently to be honest. You couldn’t stand looking at the ticking hands anymore and turned to face the opposite wall.

You heard the door open behind you but didn’t dare turn to look at him. He said nothing as he took off his shoes and kicked them towards the door. He pulled off his hoodie and tossed it in the chair across the room. You weren’t sure what his mood was or if he was going to even say anything but you didn’t dare speak up first.

You felt him climb into bed and lay next to you. His back was pressed against your back and you could feel the tiny electrical currents zap your heart back to life again. The soft cloth of his under tee-shirt moved against your bare shoulders as you shifted. The cotton was still cool from his long walk outside and it only served to heighten your emotions about to spill over. All of your sensations were in overdrive and it was torture to not roll over and kiss him again.

Chase rolled over to his back, staring at the ceiling and finally spoke:“I’m sorry

Chase rolled over to his back, staring at the ceiling and finally spoke:
“I’m sorry.”

You turned over to face him, ready to be an active listener to whatever he had to say to you... even if it hurt. You found yourself forehead to forehead watching his lips dance as he spoke:
“But I would be lying if I said that I was sorry for kissing you. I’m just not. I wasn’t then and I’m not tonight.”

You craved touching his lips but settled for reaching your hand out to gently run your finger across the bones of his wrist and asked:
“Why would you want me anyway. I’m literally a mess.”

Chase: “You are the single most beautiful mess I’ve ever seen and I have tried. I just can’t get you out of my head. I’ve tried.”

You looked up at him through your eyelashes and whispered:
“Then don’t.”

You didn't know where things would end up with Chase and you didn't know how things would work out with Josh or if you'd even get a chance to find out. All you knew for sure us right now in this moment, you wanted to be exactly where you were right now, with this beautiful boy, and doing exactly what you were doing. You wanted to be lost from the world... in him.

He didn't waste another solitary moment bringing his lips back to yours.

We can either stop things at a  heavy make-out scene or let it go all the way. Either way we are walking away as just friends until the season finale when we choose who will be more than friends.
