*Chase's POV*

He followed you down the stairs already knowing that he'd lost your focus. He wondered if he would ever get the chance to say what he was trying to say. Would it even matter if he did? You were totally drunk when you kissed him. Maybe it didn't mean to you what it had to him. It didn't change how he felt either way. He had been right that night in his car... you wouldn't remember kissing him and definitely not that his entire soul lifted from his body as it made him feel things he'd never felt before.

He didn't know where he fit in on the spectrum of straight and gay but it would probably always be somewhere in the middle. He'd never considered if he was attracted to boys until he'd met Jaden and they started hanging out. Jaden had been the one to make a move on him first and he shocked even himself by kissing him back. Gay, straight, or bi... one thing he was absolutely sure about was that he would spend the rest of his life wanting to kiss you again.

When he got to the bottom of the stairs his heart sunk to see his best friend pulling away from a kiss with a tall, ridiculously cute boy.

You: "Hey, Josh, this is my best friend, Chase. Chase, this is Josh."

Chase put his hand out to shake Josh's. He tried with everything to hide his disappointment at the interruption as he nodded in Josh's direction, awkwardly.

Josh asked, curiously:
"Oh, hey man. Are you joining us?"

Before Chase could respond, you answered:
"Oh no. He's actually my neighbor and just stopped by to check in on me since my family was gone for the weekend."

Josh: "Oh, cool."

You: "Well, you better get going now. We will catch up later okay?"

Josh: "Well, it was good to meet you, man."

Chase called out on his way out the door:
"Let me know if you ever hear from Noah."

Your face tightened as well as your chest and you hoped Josh didn't pick up on the tension. You shot him a look that could have been daggers as you spat back with a tense wave:
"Will do, Chase!"

Chase knew that was beyond messed up to call her out like that. He didn't even know why in the world he did it. He had only known her a short time but he'd come to really depend on her and cherished the fact that she relied so much on him. She was becoming his person and never wanted to be the reason she was hurting but sometimes he just acted without thinking. He knew he'd have to apologize for that soon.

I decided to add in a different POV before going right into our night with Josh. So please sound off in the comments whether you like these or just sticking with our POV.
