They were in the middle of watching a movie and cuddling on Chase's couch. This sneaking around all afternoon while Chase's parents were gone to work had been going on for at least two weeks. They had one close call when his dad came home early a few days ago, but they quickly averted him catching them kissing by Chase pretending he was getting picked up to go hang out with a group of friends. Today had gone much smoother.
Jaden looked up at and without warning, Chase's mouth was on his. They had kissed a dozen times before, but the sense of urgency with this kiss was completely different. Chase's hands were on the back of Jaden's head holding him in place as the kiss deepened. He didn't know if it would escalate past a kiss this time, but oh God was this good. Chase scooted down, letting Jaden position himself above him when he felt his phone vibrate, interrupting the moment.

Chase leaned down and kissed Jaden one more time before looking over at his phone: "Everything okay?"
Jaden: "Yeah, she needs a ride from the restaurant."
Chase: "I wonder why she asked you for a ride and not me?"
Jaden wrapped his hand into Chase's: "I don't know. Do you wanna go with me?"
Chase sat up: "Nah. I get to see her more living next door to her anyway. I mean I haven't really seen her the last few weeks but she's your friend too."
Jaden: "I hang out with her and Emma all the time. It'd be nice if we could all hang out together with you too instead of sneaking around all the time."
Chase sat back and exhaled the words: "I'm sorry."
Jaden pulled Chase back into his arms: "Hey. Hey. Don't do that. I would take 100 more afternoons like we've had the last few weeks. Just you and me, watching movies on your couch while your parents are at work."
Chase: "You're so just-"
Jaden interjected in an attempt to lighten the mood: "Awesome? Devilishly handsome? Perfect? Yeah."
Chase couldn't help but laugh as he continued: "You're just so unapologetically YOU and you're not scared of anything."
Jaden: "That's not true."
Chase: "You don't care who finds out that you're bi. Your friends, family, strangers... You literally seem afraid of anything."
Jaden's tone turned serious as he admitted: "I'm scared of losing you."
Chase: "I like you. A lot more than I probably show. I just don't know how to show it, I guess."
Jaden: "The last few weeks have been a good start. As for the rest of it... you'll tell everyone when you're ready."
Chase: "Even my parents..."
Jaden kissed him again and agreed: "Even your parents."
Chase pulled Jaden up to standing: "I gotta stay home and get some laundry done so my Mom doesn't come home asking questions about what I actually spent my afternoon doing."
