48: Day 2

You showed up to work and were dreading it before you'd even tied your apron. Tayler came up behind you:
"Here, let me help you."

You yanked your string, tight:
"It's fine. I've got it."

Tayler put his hands up in retreat:
"Fine. Fine. Suit yourself."

Two of the three biznotches who'd whispered about you on your first shift were working tonight and the amount of snide comments already was astronomical. You headed to the bar for the pre-shift meeting and sat through the dirty looks and whispers from Eva and Olivia. Tayler only picked up on it once but said nothing. He just offered you a slight smile and carried on assigning sections.

You were doing your best to get through your day in hopes that you would get to see Josh again before the night was over. He'd texted you three times already which was new territory since he didn't usually remember you existed during the hours the sun was out.

Eva bumped into you, nearly knocking you over:
"Move! God, do you even know what you're doing here?"

You had enough and slammed down your order notepad as you finally snarled back: "Yeah, because you're evidence that it takes a real genius to wait tables. Get a grip, Eva."

Tayler pushed his way into the kitchen in a rush and looked directly at you as he snapped:
"Enough of the drama already. Can you just do what I hired you for? We're kinda busy in case you didn't notice!"

You tried to defend yourself and correct Tayler that Eva had started it but Olivia came up behind you:
"Geez, Tayler where did you find her? Is she drama like this everywhere?"

You gave up and huffed out towards the dining room with water glasses for your new table. You couldn't figure out why these girls had it out for you? Did Tayler tell them you used to date? Well, of course he did... that much was obvious but what did they care? Unless...

You headed back to the table and were in the middle of taking the group's order when Olivia crashed into the back of you, spilling her tray of drinks down your back. Olivia in the fake tone with pouty look she was becoming known for:
"Oh noooo. Whooops."

You spun around and shoved her back, ready to really attack when a woman at your table squealed at the top of her lungs. Tayler came rushing over with a towel to help the lady clean up the spill that had ended up in her lap.

Tayler turned towards you and Olivia and shouted:
"That's it. THAT'S IT!!!"

You were about to add Tayler to the list of people who you were going to go off on the second you clocked out but to your shock he added:
"OLIVIA… MY OFFICE NOW!"

Eva stomped off towards the hallway that led to the offices as you smiled at Tayler. You started to thank him but he just sighed:
"I went out on a limb to get you this job because I care about you... can you at least try to get along with your coworkers?"

Josh shows up, does it change the fact that Tayler defends you?
