The bustle of the day in the courtroom had finally started to die down and the group was starting to get back to normal. Normal was a relative term at this point, however, because nothing in life for any of them had been at all what they were expecting. For example, if anyone had asked 3 months ago, he'd have sworn he would have been sneaking in his best friend and neighbor in his house in the middle of the night...
Instead, it was Jaden who he was struggling to hold in his laughter with as they bumped into the loudest things possible in his parent's kitchen at 2 am. Jaden was choking back tears of laughter as he warned: "If you wake up your parents, I'm running."
Chase pinned him against the fridge and smiled against his lips: "Then shut me up."
Jaden grabbed the muffins sitting on the counter next to them and shoved the top of one in Chase's mouth. Chase sounded muffled: "Ohhhh. I'm gonna get you for that!"
Jaden pushed past him and knocked over a vase on his way out of the kitchen. He turned and looked at it in the dimly lit room, in panic.

Jaden: "Oh my God. I'm so sorry."
Chase: "Babe, it's okay. My mom literally has like 30 vases. She won't even notice. Don't stress."
Jaden tossed the broken shards of glass in the garbage can as Chase pulled out a new vase and attempted to save the flowers.
Chase: "See? Good as new."
Jaden pulled Chase close for a kiss as he smile: "My hero."
Chase pushed Jaden's curly hair out of his face as he leaned for another kiss. Things really started heating up when Chase pulled back, breathlessly to ask: "You were right."
Jaden looked at him confused so Chase winked and admitted: "Sneaking around is pretty hot."
Jaden pulled him back into a kiss with a smile and as his hands reached up the back of Chase's shirt to grasp at his flesh, a light behind them flipped on. Chase nearly jumped out of his own skin as his Mom screamed: "OH MY GOD!"
Chase pleaded: "Mom. Please don't freak out."
Mrs. Hudson: "You know how I feel about you- DOING THIS under my roof."
Chase: "Mom, we were just kissing. It isn't that big of a deal, I promise."
Just then, his father turned the corner with an expression of absolute shock: "What is going on down here? Kissing? Him? I don't understand."
Chase looked like he was about to curl up in a ball and just give up on life so Jaden tried to step between them: "I'm so sorry for coming by so late. This is completely my fault."
His father's voice boomed: "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!"
Chase: "Please. Dad. Let's all talk instead of kicking him out so late."
