You went inside to find Emma dancing with Bryce and tried to subtly get her attention. She missed the cues and pulled you onto the dance floor with them. You interrupted the moment to tell Emma: “I think I should probably go home soon but like I totally don’t want to make you leave or be stuck here…”
Bryce interjected: “I could always give Emma a ride home. I’d be more than willing to do that.”
Emma took one look at you and shook her head, seeming to understand: “No. No. I think it’s definitely time we headed home. But you should definitely call me sometime, Bryce.”
Bryce walked you girls out to your car and you tried to look away as he leaned in the car for a kiss from Emma. His head seemed in the clouds as he said: "Oh yeah. I'm definitely calling you."
You couldn’t help but laugh as you pulled away and he stood and watched her drive away. You decided to head back to your house to crash because Emma had the munchies and complained that she didn’t have any snacks at home. You had a feeling it had to do more with feeling lonely there.

Your Mom sent you upstairs with a tray of snacks. You had to admit it... when you weren't fighting about Tayler, your mom was literally the best. The moment your door shut, Emma amazed: “Wow. You are so lucky.”
You were too distracted by your phone to really engage in what she’d said. You sat refreshing your messages an embarrassing amount just hoping at some point Chase would respond.
Emma: “Haven’t heard from Josh yet?”
You: “Oh, no. He’s texted me a few times. He sent me this pick of him and his brother today. How cute are they?"

Emma: "Then why are you wearing out the touch screen on that phone, girl?"
You: "I just really wish Chase would answer one of my messages.”
Emma: “I thought you and Chase were just friends?”
You: “So did I but what kind of friend doesn’t respond to messages for days on end.”
Emma: “You know what? You should totally make plans with Jaden. I bet he has answers!”
It was so refreshing that you had confided your mosy of your dilemma in Emma because now she could just quip back advice and ideas when something else in your life went haywire.
You: “You’re right. I’m gonna invite him to lunch tomorrow. I just have to find a way to blow off Noah.”
Emma: “Noah? Dang girl, just when I think I’ve heard about all the boys you’re tangled up with.”
You both broke into laughter. You must have left out Noah in the conversation. You definitely left out that you'd made out with him very recently becuase honestly after last night with Josh, anything before felt like a lifetime ago. The rest of the night was filled with jokes, junk food, and confiding your whole life stories in each other.
