You had changed the subject from Noah to what happened with Josh.

You: "I mean I did spend the night with him while you and Dad were out of town and it was honestly just amazing. Everything seemed to change that night."

Mom: "How so?"

You: "Well before that he seemed to really like me but just wasn't ready to be serious. After that night he just tried so much harder. He was gone on that trip but he sent me that gift and the way he talked about me and too me just changed."

Mom: "Why didn't he want a relationship?"

You: "He caught his last girlfriend in bed with his girlfriend. That's why he was so upset with Noah... not just because he put his hands on me. Noah is his roommate or was."

Your mother's face showed pure shock as you scrambled to explain:
"I didn't know any of that when I met Noah or became friends with him, I swear. It was just the worst cosmic joke of a coincidence."

Mom: "So you turned to your best friend and hid from the problem for a night because it was all too much?"

You didn’t even leave out what happened with Chase last night to your surprise:
"He's not just my best friend. Except that he is. I don't even know. We've had all these feelings for each other since the beginning but neither of us had the nerve to do anything about it."

Mom: "And last night you admitted to them?"

You: "No, last night I slept with him."

Mom: “Wow. No wonder you’re confused honey.”

You: "None of that matters because you were right about Chase. He does like guys. Or at least likes girls and boys. Jaden is actually sort of involved with him too and- God- it's just really a mess."

Mom: "Do you want my advice?"

You: “I just don’t know what to do. I was so sure Chase was what I wanted. Then I met Josh and I was even more sure that I wanted him.”

Mom: “And now?”

You: “Now I just- It doesn’t even matter. Josh doesn’t want anything to do with me.”

Mom: “I don’t think that’s true. That call didn’t scream leave me alone exactly.”

You: “I guess you’re right.”

Mom: "Sweetie, we love Chase and I think he's an amazing friend and maybe someday could be the love of your life but you're so young. He may just be prince charming for the night but until he comes to terms with his secret I don't think he's capable of being a very good boyfriend."

You: "And Josh? He left me."

Mom: “Honey, seeing Noah here must have been a huge shock to him. Maybe he said those things because he hadn’t had the time to process it all yet.”

You: “I guess. I think I’m gonna go upstairs and shower. I didn’t bring a change of clothes yesterday so I really need to clean up.”

Mom: “Okay, but honey while you’re thinking about your love life, I need you to think about moving forward with prosecuting Noah.”

You: “I’m just not ready yet. But I promise I will think about it.”

Mom: “Okay, sweetie. I love you so much and I’m glad you’re home.”

We hear from Tayler next. Is he still in the running for who we end up with? Or is it just between Chase and Josh?
