You drove around just talking for a while until Josh noticed he'd used half a tank of gas:
"After I fill-up do you maybe wanna come hang out at my apartment before I max out my fuel budget?"

You were nervous but excited at the idea of being alone somewhere with Josh. You were technically alone with him now, but his apartment would be different. He unlocked his door and led you into a messy apartment. A giant floofy dog jumped at you as Josh yelled:
"Buddy! Down, girl. Sorry about her. I haven't been home much so she's lonely. Let's go in the other room for a little peace."

He led you into his bedroom and you looked around at all the pictures on his dresser

He led you into his bedroom and you looked around at all the pictures on his dresser. There was one of him with his brother but what really stood out was him and a beautiful girl.

Josh wrapped his arms around you from behind and took the frame ouy of your hands:"It's just an old girlfriend

Josh wrapped his arms around you from behind and took the frame ouy of your hands:
"It's just an old girlfriend. I never got around to throwing it away."

He tossed it in the trashcan before turning you around and pushing you against the dresser. He covered your protests with his lips while his hands tangled up in your loose fitting tee shirt, pulling you closer to his body.

You came up for air to try and let your senses take back control and ask: "Why did you still have that? Are you two still working things out? Or…?"

Josh: "Not at all. She cheated on me with my ex-roommate. To be honest I only kept it to torture him when he came and moved his stuff last week."

His lips pressed back against yours and even though you knew there was more to the story, you decided to let it go. You didn't want to ruin the mood and told yourself if he was still seeing this girl, he wouldn't have invited to to his place or would have at least hidden the picture.

You're insecurities faded as they were replaced with his hands all over your body, pawing away layer after layer until you fell onto the bed in his arms. The only thing between you at that point was the lace of your panties and the thin fabric of his boxers that left little to the imagination.

He pinned you down as you tried and failed to catch your breath then freed you of the last layer between your bodies becoming one for hours.

After collapsing on his chest, reality finally set in: "I didn't mean to pry about the picture. I just don't want to be blindsided, I guess."

Josh took a deep breath: "It was really recent and I don't know when I'll be over it or ready to move onto something real again, to be honest."

You couldn't bring yourself to make eye contact with him but knew if you didn't get out of there you would break down in front of him and that's the opposite of the chill vibe you were fighting to maintain. You got up and started to get your stuff together trying to hide your disappointment. He drove you home in oblivious silence.
